They’re fun to watch. Love seeing the weak side cuts with bounce pass layups.

End up out-scoring SJSU 54-30 after the 1st quarter. And it wasn’t even that close, SJSU scored most of their 11 4th quarter points in the final minutes.

This team looks really good.

Nelp is building a winner and brought an energy to TU women's basketball we haven't seen since Kathy McConnell-Miller was here. She's getting really good players (although I am really disappointed we missed out on Tony Heard and Lila Osceola's daughter) and she's bringing in some players with legit D1 size and athleticism. The one thing they need to work on is making sure they can limit the scoring droughts. There would be games where they'd play well in the 1Q and then score 4 pts in the 2nd. Last year they had USF beat until the last 3 minutes of the game in Tampa. I think Nelp is helping them overcome that and you will see a more even effort from everyone this year as well as improved inside defending and rebounding.

I think bringing in Gallegos from UTEP will help with scoring droughts. She sees the court well and already seems like a coach on the floor.

I enjoyed watching both women's games this year. Nelp has done a good job of mixing personnel so that the team has a feel for the mix of old and new players. Lots of energy and no complacency along with coaching to improve issues during the games.
