I'm a huge college basketball fan so I can't imagine not watching...I wish the fellas were playing but they had a good run... This is the last weekend of college basketball so I'm about to go through withdrawals..
Odd half....kS played their game as usual...Nova got hot and just kept shooting 3's..would expect some adjustments from Jay Wright at half to go inside more and eat some clock....hoping Nova just piles it on and KS gets dumped
They shot 50% from 3... I think they cool off and Kansas will make a run but hopefully Nova pulls this out!
So Nova has no real post player - but has a very potent offense....could this be a preview of how we attack next year? No real post but 7-8 players who have the versatility to attack and defend anyone?
Good news. Next years FF is in Minneapolis next year I believe, our home away from home. Just need to get there.
wow - that bald headed ref is really KS bias - if that was a charge then the carter one was a flagrant!
The only good thing is my son is starting AAU Summer League up so I’ll get some basketball in.
I just like watching great BB no matter who plays - defense, offense a coordinated team....doesnt matter if its Nova or whoever....good BB is good BB
That's cool! I always thought my son would play basketball but he chose soccer. After about 5 years I finally understood the off sides call...lol! I kept telling him we were basketball folks...

Amazing display by Nova. Shows what a team committed to playing as a unit on both ends can do when they execute. How would we have faired? Hard to say since every game is different - but the weapons Nova has and the maturity they play with would have been hard for us to match if we didnt shoot the 3 well and limit our turnovers against their pressure

So Nova had just one McD all american in the last 3 years....one next year....does recruiting the very best really produce a team that has the potential to win it all every year? Or should we look to recruit the right players to blend a team? Nova could win NT's 2 of the last 3 years...maybe their formula is the one we should emulate.
This Nova team would roll any team that they played tonight including Duke especially defense Duke played this year, it would have been just as ugly. Nova is playing with a purpose
This formula has proven itself over and over. Nova and the cheats have been loaded with upperclassmen and they are the ones reeling off nattys and FFs. Duke has had one run and that’s been it as far as FFs go. Look at our 2010 team. That says it all IMO
They also never advanced past the first weekend for six consecutive years from 2010 to 2015.
They’re playing really, really well right now. But every Duke fan should know that the shots don’t always fall.
So they've figured it out. Do you think we would have been competitive against them tonight? I doubt it. Loyola was an #11 with experience, we got bounced by KS due to experience....if you offered me odds on success with a freshman-dominated team vs upper classman I'd take the upperclassman every day. Nova reminded me of Duke of old...defense, defined roles on both ends and a team commitment and resolve....when have we had that? I'm sure 2015 comes to mind, and i would agree...but that was lightning in a bottle...the next few years will be very interesting as its a Petrie dish for the OAD preference
They played well all season. Not just tonight. Jay Wright has a philosophy he runs his program with and wont compromise to pick up the "great" player. They must buy into his system and the team. That used to be us...
I wouldn’t say they’ve figured it out. I mean, how does that work? Did Duke figure it out from 1986 to 1994 and forget how to do it?
Villanova has a great group of players right now. They have great veterans who have been through battles. See UNC the two years prior, as well. Villanova has had teams with this same kind of makeup forever....they just weren’t as talented as this team. Talent counts, too.
And no, it would have been tough to compete with Villanova tonight....for every team in the country. They made almost 20 three’s....that’s pretty impressive. I don’t think they would have blown us out, though.
They were great offensively all season. Not on defense. Their defense has improved drastically. They were barely top 50 in adjusted defense most of the year.
And Coach K hasn’t compromised his program.
I’d encourage you to go become the biggest Villanova fan in the world. Start tonight, please.
