Samuelson 27 1st half points vs. Memphis

it’s been an up and down year for Katie Lou, but 27 first half points and 7 of 8 on 3s is a good sign that she has broken out of her shooting slump. Also had 7 rebounds and 5 assists. She had a great game in one half. I think someone must have said something about her 0 FG performance last game vs UCF. She shouldn’t be shooting 36% on 3s, but there is time for her to correct that stat. Lot of season left still.

Part of the problem is no big bodies to set screens for her. I think UConn 3 point shooting has not been good against better teams primarily for this reason.

It looked good last night, and I think they will win out and get the number 1 seed in Albany. All games from the Elite 8 on will be dicey. The lack of size up front has been a problem.

KLS does a lot more than just shoot now, which is why the % is down. But she’ll need to have 3 good games at the end, if this team has a chance for 12.

That is true- she is a much better rebounder, passer and defender than she was 2 years ago, and being multifaceted can be draining. I agree she will need to really play well in Final 8 and possible Final 4 games. The better teams have played her straight up and neutralized her, and teams cannot play you straight up and not be made to pay if you are elite.
