Idk what you mean by his whip. My thoughts were always sub1= very very good, 1.00-1.25= decent but not great, 1.25+= not great to bad. With a 1.48, the guy lets a let of guys on base

I know what WHIP means.

I was pointing out that his WHIP is high because he gives up a lot of hits, not walks. He gives up 1.28 hits per IP and his WHIP is 1.48. He's walking less than a guy every time he starts. We are going to have to string together hits to get crooked letters on the board. Its unlikely we'll see two walked batters in an inning.

Well if he's lighting up the zone, then I'm not worried. We do well when we swing at strikes. I hope he likes to throw his fastball. This team doesn't need walks to put up crooked letters. We just need to swing at strikes. And from what I'm reading he's no Greg Maddux painting the corners with backdoor two-seamers and sliders or changeups for that matter. And I bet he does walk at least 3 with the regional environment. You can book that. I'll take bets at O/U 2.5 walks the game he pitches.

That's good because half our lineup swings at whatever is tossed up there no matter what.
