This is 100% my issue with Leach and the issue I’ve had with cohen’s football hires. Cohen has tried to hire to a philosophy that he wants a passing offense. As a result he has just overlooked the only pockets off success we have historically had has been with coaches that are flexible but ultimately build on the line of scrimmage.

My defense of Cohen is that it's still unbelievable to me that the New York Giants hired Joe Judge to be their head coach. I don't know if Judge would have worked out here but it would have been interesting.

Dan Mullen was a "system" coach.

Meh. We were 10th in the country in pass play percentage in 2015. In the 100’s in 2017. Mullen was fairly adaptable based on the talent on hand.

Only thing I can come up with is that he sees that MSU has not had sustained success over the long term, so he wants to change it up to maybe have longer periods of success. Me personally, I don't see why we couldn't just keep doing what Mullen was doing.

I figured Arky had just given up when they hired him. Nobody thought it was a good hire. A lot of the Arky fans were very upset when they hired him so go figure. Just like Leach I'm not sold one way or the other with Pittman yet. I think it is too early to crown him the SEC West Champion.

This hire proves it shouldn’t take 3 years to get something going. Pittman took over a program that was absolutely in the tanks 2 years ago and now they are a top 10 team. Pittman appears to know how to run a program. He clearly was not an exciting hire but no one gives a **** now.

This may come as a surprise to people who haven't watched any film on Texas A&M... but we've played 3 teams tougher than anyone on Arkansas's schedule. We'd be 4-0 with their schedule and in the top 10 as well. We'll see how real they are after Georgia. Both Texas SEC schools are vastly overrated this year. Remove the name from the jersey and neither would be receiving votes.

A bit misleading, are the twenty four stars underclassmen or veterans, are they on offense or defense ? Are they primarily lineman or skill position guys ?

when Leachs teams have Rogers as a fifth year senior, Sawyer as 4th year junior, Locke as a third year sophomore.....well then the air raid is going to be rolling. Have to be patient.

I give Pittman props but they are never going to be a top ten team with that offense, Pittman is more Houston nut than he is Petrino. Vanilla offense with around #20-25 talent. Never going to compete for major bowls like that at Arky.

This post aged well. Pittman is another coach trying to beat the blueboods at their own game. Ain’t going to happen. Yeah, it’s good enough to go to the independence/ liberty bowl but is that seriously what you guys want every year ?

Even Petrino’s teams got blown out by top 3 LSU and Alabama teams in 2011, I think it’s just a talent issue rather than a scheme issue.

Bielema’s ground and pound offense finished 2nd in the SEC in scoring in 2015 so the offense worked. A bad defense and kicking game is the reason Arkansas went 8-5 that year.
