I have probably rewatched Jurassic Park as much or more than any movie in my lifetime and he’s great in it.

Also shoutout to him for being the only redeeming part of Jurassic Park 3 which is a terrible movie but he’s the one thing in it that still works.

RIP, Dr. Grant.

It's this scene that I remember the most about my first time seeing it. Really, just the one look by Neill, removing his hat and glasses. Pure cinema when the whole theater experienced the first "holy sh*t" moment.

PS Sam gets extra credit in my book for being in The Hunt for Red October, one of my personal favorite movies ever. RIP Vasili.

Two lesser known roles that are two of my favorites are Event Horizen and Dead Calm. Hell of an actor and always seemed like a really good guy.

Since the World Cup is going on now, who could forget his star turn in United Passions, the universally hated FIFA vanity project movie that basically extolled the greatness of FIFA?

It’s interesting to me how my viewing of Jurassic Park has changed over the years. When I was a kid I just wanted to see dinosaurs doing cool dinosaur things. But some of the best scenes in JP are the talking scenes between the humans.

All hail his masterful cameo as the actor playing Odin in Thor: Ragnarok
Holy crap….good looking out. Watched this with my son a few weeks ago and immediately spotted Matt Damon as Loki, and the other guy looked familiar but I couldn’t quite place him.

The guy playing Thor is Thor's (Chris Hemsworth's) brother Liam.

ETA: I just learned within the past year that Liam is a nickname for William. I always just thought it was one of those odd British names, like Nigel.

I was today years old when I learned that, just a few seconds ago actually

I was in 4th grade when Jurassic Park came out. My jaw was on the floor when that scene hit.

Looking over his IMDB, a few other films I liked or found interesting are Daybreakers, In the Mouth of Madnes (flawed, but a must if you like HP Lovecraft) and The Hunter (hard to miss a film with Neil, Willem Defoe and a bad CGI Tasmanian Tiger).
