I'm not sure why he stands out but I hope that there are lots of "good teammates".
He's a senior leader on this team.

Edit: I mistakenly brought up his brothers diabetic challenges as Sam's.

Not at all. A thank you is just that... a thank you. He could of been one of the biggest cancers in the locker room but it sounds he was one of the best.
I'm gonna give a shout out to Barney for this as well... In spite of what has happened over the years, he bleeds husker red. He easily could have poisoned his son against this staff, but I believe he took the high road when a few other previous coaches didn't.

If Cotton was our Special Teams Coordinator, I wouldn't have shed any tears about it.

With that being said, I'm expecting some serious ST improvement. Not even statistical improvement where you are shown stats to demonstrate success but, rather, I want to FEEL like we are dominant there. I want to feel it like I did when....

......were playing. The feeling that you knew we were playing it better than our opposition.

We have a TON of athletic big bodies - the 6' 200-225lb type - to insert anywhere in our coverage teams. Should be dominant. When you have the punter and kicker and long snapper (we have good ones) and big athletic 200+ pounders all over the field, there is little excuse anymore.

I think our special team play will be improved this year. We have more athletic depth to pull from.

I also think this could of been posted somewhere else instead of Sam Cotton thank you thread.

As his dad was brought up, I just brought up the fact that I wouldn't mind his dad as ST Coordinator and stated why I think the position could open up. Maybe not 100% a Thank You to Cotton but at least in the same zip code.

Beats the pissing matches I see on this board that involve two idiots bantering.

Thanks Sam!

Is this another one of those threads where Red Rover goes to RSS, pieces together a few words from another poster, manages to form incomplete sentences in his mind, and then comes over to the free board to pretend his best buddy close to the program just gave him some insider info?

But to be fair, I thank all of the players that come play for my favorite team, sacrifice countless hours in the gym and on the practice field, and juggle college coursework and their practice schedules basically year-round.
