Again, coaches working hard on the recruiting front.

This kid is humble, has a nice pass, can drive through contact, and is developing his jump/three pretty well at this point. 2016 kid.

Coach Jordan/Co really seem to be putting faith in their guards. Game has transitioned that way. A kid like Salnave would probably be here for 3-4 years. Could really turn out to be a good guard. Between Johnson, Sanders, Parker- we are stacking up at the pg position.

Salnave is a nice kid, but we can do better. Mike Williams is a similar player, but more talented. I believe the staff is in position to bring in someone with far more upside.

I actually prefer Salnave to Williams. He's more of a pure point guard with much better ball handling ability than Williams and a good passer too. Not sure what his defense is like tho..that is where Mike Williams is most strong at until he starts becoming the shooter we thought he would be imo

Salnave would be a great backup PG behind Sanders but if he wants to play heavy minutes from day 1 then Monmouth is a better choice for him

Monmouth has zeroed in on Salnave, who has been to the West Long Branch campus twice this month and at least three times in total since Dec.

Trust me from an RU perspective if he goes to Monmouth this is no big loss and quite frankly if you are going to compete in the Big Ten you need to do better, much better than Salnave.

definitely not a huge loss and like someone pointed out above, with Nigel set to play next year Rutgers seem set at the PG position for the next few years.

With that being said, this guy had offers from St. John's and Seton Hall as well. He's no push over. He could play for bigger schools but seems like he'd rather be a big fish in a little pond which is okay. Good luck to him

You are right, not a loss for a BT school. We had no real interest lately, and neither has SJU. Monmouth is probably a good fit for him. I hope they can build up a good program but wonder of they ever make it back to the NCAAs. Like Rider, they were there every few years as a NEC school, but not since they jumped to the MAAC,

They're close right now----will be picked in Top 3-4 Preseason.

MAC a 1 bid conference so if they play well in March who knows ?

@CoachRNaclerio: Feel bad in a good way for Cardozo's Rashond Salnave. 4 schools called me offering and 3 called Rashond offering.

@CoachRNaclerio: Knowing he is making a decision tomorrow I told him if you must hold off. He said one way or another he is doing this tomorrow. Got his back

Good for Monmouth! and ultimately good for metro area college basketball - 'a rising tide floats all boats' probably some what applies here - certainly can't fear the incremental improvements of schools like Monmouth - just wish them well and appreciate how they can elevate the quality of play in the metro area & in so doing contribute to more media coverage of the college scene.

Agree.

And fine with playing them every year.

Just at the RAC and not the MAC.

Why ?

Full house last year of over 4,000. Plenty of RU fans were there.

You may not get that at the RAC.

Yep, and I was one of them.

But IMO I would prefer any NJ games be played at the RAC. Especially against a private school.
