Rookie safety Chip Vaughn is also scheduled to go under the knife today. He'll have arthroscopic surgery to repair some torn meniscus in his left knee.

Depending on the extent of the repair, Vaughn should be able to return before the start of the season, but Coach Sean Payton said he'll know more after he gets the doctors' report.

Cornerback Tracy Porter and receiver Courtney Roby missed Tuesday's practice with hamstring injuries. Defensive end Bobby McCray sat out his second straight practice with back spasms. And receiver D'Juan Woods was out with a nerve issue in his neck.

The most significant injury news, as earlier reported, is that linebacker Mark Simoneau will be out for several weeks, if not longer, with a torn triceps. Payton said his surgery is scheduled for tomorrow, not today.
