Sahvir Wheeler needs more than 40 min/game if we want to win. If only we still had Tyty. He was never the same after running into a brick wall(Walker Kessler).

If you watched this game and didn't recognize that Sahvir Wheeler was one of the best players on the court, I don't know what to tell you.
A lot of ball watching , no basketball IQ having posters around here and it’s showing after tonight.

Not even a 50/50 game that’s debatable…at least it lets you see the pure morons for what they are

You guys are crazy Wheeler played very well tonight, hit 2 threes 9-10 assists, what so many don't grasp is he is expected to be a playmaker for an offense THAT HAS NO PLAYS except a pick and roll to Oscar. Cal isn't putting any of these guys in a position where they can succeed. I don't care for Pitino but hecwould go 30-3 or so with this team. Same with Izzo ofr K . The problem is the COACH NOT THE POINT GUARD

wheeler made one great play

drive to basket and pass to open 3.

other than that, i dont see the talent.
Exercises bad judgement, turnover machine at critical moments of the game, unreliable free throw shooter in the clutch, Dribbles too much

Sounds like St Peters Game last year

He has speed, but plays too fast ad causes turnovers at inopportune times. Good kid is all I can say

Wheeler needs to penetrate and pass to the corner shooters. He dribbles too much

We've never had and never will have a point guard as good as Wheeler. There's no player, point guard or otherwise, that I'd rather have in late-game situations. If we're up one or two possessions, put it in Wheeler's hands and you'll win by ten. If we're down a couple possessions, we can trust Wheeler to lead us to victory. He not only averages double-digit assists year in and year out, but his playstation-esque numbers lead us to huge wins when the games truly matter in March.

If you don't love Wheeler, you're not a true fan.

Not at clutch time
He was literally on the bench at crunch time. Up by 1 with 15 seconds left in regulation, where's Wheeler the experienced FT shooter? Getting splinters in his *** on the bench. Sure let's give it to the freshman, ruin his confidence in a big game right off the bat. Worst coaching move in years

Played his off last night. Cals horrible system puts him in the position of having to dive down the lane against the clock every possession.

What?! He was carving up that D and eating clock at the same time. Setting guys up with great looks just before the shot clock expired multiple times. Great brand of basketball.

Wheeler hurts this team. Wallace should be the point guard for 35 mpg. Along with Reeves and Fredrick by his side for the same 35mpg. If we want to win it all, this needs to happen. Period.
But he averages all kinds of assists! And he made 6 shots and only missed 10! And he'd make every free throw, even though he was 2/4 on the game just like Wallace. WE NEED HIM!

Because Izzo did exactly what I thought he’d do and what Duquesne was doing to him in the first half. Clamp him hard coming off those ****** down screens.

And Cal had zero answers to adjust or get him clean looks.

Wheeler is good. He shot too much. But honestly no one else could shoot or score other than Oscar and Cason. We have to hit shots. But I don’t think it’s because we can’t shoot. I think Cal’s slow pick and roll offense doesn’t get the guys moving enough. There’s no flow to the offense. So Fredericks shots he did take were all very contested. Granted, he’s the type who needs a lot of space to get a shot off, unlike Reeves. But he was off too. But again, I just think the offense doesn’t have a rhythm to it. Credit to Michigan States defense as well

I'm not a follower of plus / minus on today's game .. I'm no SW fan at all, but I thought he played pretty well ( for him) last night .. why was his +- so bad ? he didnt turn it over a bunch ?
He did play well but some want to blame him for everything.

Meanwhile we had no shows from Frederick , Reeves , Collins, Livingston.

I felt Oscar, Wheeler , and Wallace were the only ones that showed up last night .

We Simply can’t afford a no show from Reeves and Frederick , at least one of them need to be good on offense .

Your 4th year pg cannot throw ill-advised alley oop passes off the backboard…he cannot miss 2 clutch FT’s in the waning minutes…he cannot miss a bunny layup late…the ball stops when he gets it….he starts to dribble. He should be playing for a UGA or Missou…his game would fit in well

After Oscar left who was the guy at clutch time
Certainly not Toppin as he forced two shots trying to be the “Go To” player. Needs to guard corner shooters better for sure.

Certainly not Frederick or Reeves

Wallace is a newbie that has to hit his free throws and not jump in the air before passing the ball.

Oscar never needs to guard anyone past the free throw line as faster guards just run by him to the basket.

Collins should never been in regards last night. Too soon from being back from personal loss/lack of practice as playing time

Wheeler is the logical choice, but he chokes in the clutch. Misses free throws, misses layup and makes turn overs.

Good kid. Just not clutch
