Sadly I predict our first loss to be Memphis

...this is gonna SUCK BIG DONKEY BALLS but this all lines up too well to be our first loss of the season to Memphis this weekend at the Liberty Bowl. Considering it will be our first road game of the season and I can totally see us not prepared to play. And apparently Memphis is treating this like their SUPER BOWL as well. Plus, they will have a good home crowd and the Memphis players will be sky high! I can already anticipate Leach not having our team prepared to play and I bet we have a lot of false starts and holding early in this game by our offense. I think it will be very similar to La Tech. Lots of penalties by us, Memphis goes out to a big lead early by big explosive plays and we have to come back all game and probably fall short in the 4th quarter. Apparently Memphis has a high octane offense and they take lots of long shots passing down field to their WRs. I can see Memphis scoring a few big TDs early by burning our DBs similar to the big explosive plays La Tech hit us with, except this time we won't have the home crowd pumping our team up in the 4th quarter to sustain a comeback. I damn well hope our team proves me wrong and I damn well will eat my fair share of crow if we win but I don't see it. Even Vegas betting line has us as an underdog and has Memphis favored to win...

There is certainly no evidence that Memphis has improved their defense. I would be shocked if we don’t score on them into the 30s.

Has anyone looked at the forecast for the game? Right now it's at 60% chance of thunderstorms starting Friday morning thru Monday. I have a feeling long passes will not be an option for either team.

Yes Memphis is trying hard to hype this game up here but their fan base is about like Southern's. A coworker goes to most home games and says that majority of the students show up take selfies and leave by the second quarter.

-"They will have a good home crowd" When do they ever have "good home crowds"? We'll skip last season and go back to their 12-1 season from 2019. For the conference championship game in Memphis to go to the Cotton Bowl against Penn St, they drew a whopping 33,008 which was probably more like 20-25K

"Memphis players will be sky high" Why? you predict ours will not be and theirs will be, tell us about this crystal ball gazing you do.

-They had 1 TD pass against lowly Nichols St, 1. They gave up passes of 89 yds, 53, 32, and 5 more that were 20+ yds and 5 TD passes against lowly ASU. They gave up an AVERAGE of 14 yds per catch to Ark St

-They have 2 gotten sacks in 2 games, none against powerhouse Nichols St.

I could go on, and anything is possible in any game, but trolls will be trolls too.............

I don't think our guys have forgotten about the LA Tech game when they had thier heads up thier asses and got 20 points behind. I don't think they are going to take Memphis lightly. Also our defense is going to give their Freshman QB too much to think about. He is going to get raddle. On the other side of the ball our offense is gong to have 500+ yards and will dominated time on the clock. That's my prediction.

I'm not predicting it, but I do have this feeling in my gut that this is not going to be a good weekend.

When I saw how well our defense performed against NC State and then I saw how poorly the Memphis D played against Arky State... I figured we'd be a double digit favorite. Then the line came out and it was only -3 and it's one those "Vegas probably knows what the hell they're doing" type things. When I look at these teams on paper, I see a 45-24 type game with State winning easily. It scares me that Vegas only sees us as a 3 point favorite.

See, I like this. Nothing's better than your team being the underdog and somehow managing to pull off an upset (6-3!) - something Bama fans haven't had the pleasure of experiencing in years. So why not psych yourself up that we're going to get beat - hell as MSU fans, we know it can happen. Makes winning that much more enjoyable. I was pretty convinced we were going down last week after seeing our opener and NC State's, but we didn't, and I got to enjoy seeing the unexpected whipping our team put on em.

First you say MSU Dogs are going to lose then you back track and say you hope they prove you wrong. I am a long time Bulldog fan and alumni and one thing I can say is nothing if I can't cheer my team on. Its like saying I know I'm going to fall down, but I'll try it anyway and hope I don't fall. It's like saying I'll go ahead and get married even though I know it will end in divorce, but I'll get married anyway. MSU just won a Baseball National title against 2 top pitchers in the Nation on one team. If you reply to my reply, I am not going to read it because Guys (fans) like you are 2 Hard 2 Believe.
