“I have two young kids that because the color of their skin I never have to worry about if they get pulled over by a police officer that they’re gonna make it out of that interaction alive and that’s a sick fact of the world that they’re living in.”

That statement makes no sense considering twice as many unarmed whites got killed by police than blacks last year, just doesn’t make the news

I was born in the 1980’s and don’t remember widespread major race issues frequently happening until the Obama Administration. Of course it’s steadily gotten worse, but from my perspective it started under Obama.

this has to be the most uneducated, ignorant thing I have ever read on TI. I suggest you spend this weekend reading some history books.

Those are all terrible things but are like 5-7 years apart, not every second of every day which is what I meant by “widespread.” Also, you sound like a douche trying to lecture people.

typical. Widespread racial unrest in year four of Trump’s administration... its Obama’s fault! Imagine if football coaches could use this excuse four years in. “Don’t blame me, it was the guy before me’s fault!”

In 2020 there is something different almost every day and it’s ongoing in several different cities at the same time. There was nothing remotely close to present day America in any of those years.

You mean that a local incident becomes national more in the 2010s than the 1980s? I wonder what the difference is? Oh, it might be this thing called the internet.

I don't know about you, but I can't think of a reason why an unarmed person should ever be killed by the cops. If we fixed this issue, I think that both sides should be happy.

There’s millions of encounters with police every year. The odds of getting killed are very well below 1%... I’ll be happy when all the energy that’s been going to this issue gets channeled to some other far more deserving issue like maybe the 50 black people killed nearly every weekend in Chicago or what about child sex trafficking or something along those lines
