At this point it has to be him or Milan to move the needle at the SF position. I'd like to believe Pope doesn't plan to run with only Kam and Hawthorne but it is sure looking like that. Not to mention the need for another Guard which is a must have.
LSU is our main competition for him if he does reclass. They have no roster only MoD so it's wide open.
I assume we get Morton at guard at a minimum and then I guess that Santos guy for center. I haven't even heard if we are going after Milan at this point. I want to see at least one big time splash player.
We have spoke with Milans agent but not Milan himself from what I know. Even gave them an offer we'd be willing to make but not sure of the interest level. He is most likely coming back to college but I believe we are 3rd or so on his option of choices. Not totally off the board but I'm not holding my breath. If all we add is Morton I'll be disappointed, we need someone a notch above him to backup Diallo and Wilkins IMO and have him be the depth guy. Guard who can play the 2/3, a true Wing and another big man is what we need and I'm fairly certain Santos is the big man we land probably sooner than later.

Next season is starting to look like last season. Mostly backups and will not contend for anything.
With this lineup we will lose 16 games. Maybe more, as I believe MM will not be much better next season, and he will always play below the rim. This is depressing.
It'll be a tough sell for Pope when all of the playing time in the world will be there for him at LSU, that's for sure.
It is the glaring hole that needs fixed. Kam and or Hawthorne will need to be better than expected for us to have a good season. If we get a starting quality 3 and another Guard on top of Morton I'd be happy with our lineup. It's still a 15-20th ranked type at that point but a massive improvement to last season IMO. If we run it with just Morton and Kam as the starting 3 and a few roster fillers then I expect a very similar record to last season. It's not a sky is falling type panic roster like many think but it is definitely not UK quality and what we expect to have either. That roster has potential but we'd need good jumps for several players from last season and the foreign additions to translate into production too.
It’ll be tough for many reasons. Mark sucks at recruiting. That’s reason #1. Reason #2, Mark is weird and goofy. Reason #3, Mark is an idiot.
Boozer played below the rim, but I know what you mean. Really need Moreno to develop a consistent jumper and a few more post moves. He may never move very quickly, but his frame could end up being imposing with added muscle.
I think (and this is my opinion), we will not see much, if any, improvement from anyone coming back.
Yeah, I see your point, I just don’t think it’ll happen. He’ll always be too slow, unathletic, and his jumper is ugly. I hope he takes a jump, I really like him, I just don’t see it.
That is in no way a top 15-20 roster IMO in any way either.
"IF" we land a starting 3 and a guard better than Morton is what I said. Those 2 things happen and it is top 20. No where close the the 5-6 power teams that were build this offseason but better than last season.
Maybe we can get that 6'8" European C.
IMO Moreno is no where close to a top C.
