Can’t be real. All the fans in attendance are wearing Northwestern colors. That’s a much larger fantasy than being up two scores on Nebraska in a first quarter.
I work here at Northwestern and I’m not exactly sure who this stadium is even for or who’s going to show up, but this all tracks. The makeshift stadium on the lake was cool though.

You just described the bottom half of this conference. Including dear old NU. The problem is that Northwestern fans and most of the other loser fanbases can live with and quite enjoy the occasional 6 win seasons. They're perfectly content. Meanwhile we're over here chugging paint thinner and waving a .38 special around.
IF POSSIBLE, I would like to see NU take 3 feet out of the playing surface lowering it to improve line of sight from both east and west stadium lower bowl.
Drainage would be the issue.
Also if they're thinking of using the stadium for 2 to 6 outside events to generate $$$, does grass really work for that?? I'm assuming other pro fb or bb stadiums are able to pull that off so maybe not an issue.

Our younger “fans” already have that defeatist attitude, and it’s hard to blame them. They’re becoming much like the old guard B1G fanbases. Ohio St and Michigan have cucked and emasculated most of this conference, instead of competing with OSU and Mich, they celebrate their dominance. It’s so pathetic…
I've got two sons, 19 & 17, and they very much want Nebraska to be good. But they're not upset about it. As far as they're concerned Nebraska has always been bad. They literally don't remember a good team.
You are correct!! A wonderful old flimsy shack of a place that has great dogs, chili dogs, Polish, burgers, brats, Italians, greasy fries, onion rings, etc that I could eat a ton of back in my 20’s when living there. Now I gotta go look it up to make sure it’s still there…yep!! Still there. I highly recommend if ever in Evanston.

That is what I was wondering, the place will be beautiful but who the F is going to go to these games? Mediocre team, mediocre talent, mediocre product. Not unlike what NE is right now unfortunately.
If you take under consideration 9-4 and 10-3 seasons weren’t good enough so we fired the coach and ended up with Riley, SF and now Rhule.
They’d been 7 and 9 years old..
I honestly think that the administration forgot they even had an old stadium.
That thing was built and forgotten.
This might seem nutty given the history and current state of Northwestern football. But since it would be adjacent to an enormous city that's starved for decent event space, it's actually an intriguing idea. Seems like the emphasis is on building a unique, year-round venue that could also accommodate six home football games. Probably not many places where that would work, but in suburban Chicago it just might.
I would imagine they will host some high school games, concerts, conventions, stuff like that.
Considering it's all private money and will continue to be supported by NW's uber wealthy donors (Ryan's etc), it's a sure thing if there was ever a sure thing.
