How is it hook and hold when Eugene let go of his arm abs didn’t drag him down . Damn we don’t need to overofficiate these games even more

just like football. becoming unwatchable with all these constant reviews and momentum killers. just WAY too many reviews that take way too long over the simplest and most obvious stuff.

new hook and hold call is already out of control. let them play!

Remember when we scored 90 points in the first 2 games of the year? I know polar opposite opponents of late but we aren’t this bad on O. Have so much confidence on D but then squirm away on O

Harper had a few promising buckets towards the end. I think we need to see him more on a regular basis. Thiam is just too timid, it's a shame because the guy plays really hard

True but in the end it's just another loss and we're 0-2 in league. No guarantees we'll play well against teams less talented. Had a chance. Did nothing on offense in the second half. Too many spectators on offense.
I hate this part of a rebuild. You can see they're playing better but still your in the basement. Then you have to wonder if the better play will last. Are we playing are best basketball now? Or is the best yet to come? Do the freshman hit a wall or do they continue to come on? So many questions but we'll see.

Second half defense killed us. Can’t give up 43 points in a half to anyone and expect to win.

I think we should be okay. We were more athletic than Wisconsin, and our length caused them some trouble at times. Those things should translate to the rest of the conference schedule. Wisconsin was just really good and executed when it counted.

Eugene is not good. Watching the important games this year (SJU, Miami, MSU, Wisky) he’s a net negative out there. Dumb fouls, hero one on one ball, out of control shots, defense based on trying to draw a foul but not actual defense. I don’t know maybe I’m missing something?

You're absolutely missing something if you think Eugene is not good/a net negative

Much better performance than MSU. Went to the basket and got the ball down low. Wisc is a good team and at home. Just need to win the games we are supposed to win.

Shooters will always struggle without great ball movement. Even Happ passes the ball out at times, unlike we do.

For me, that was a fun game to watch. The game was in doubt until maybe a minute and a half or so to go, and who wouldn't have signed up for that against Wisky? Geo and Kiss hit big threes and it was great seeing Carter and Caleb do so well. Growing pains for Harper and Mattis. Love Omeruyi. Wisky at home, more experienced than RU, and third tough game in a short time span, and RU is within 5 at the end? Not too damn bad. The glass is half full, maybe three quarters. Enjoy it.

We need a shooter, mulcahy more of a distributer, but whos he distributing to? Need a secondary scoring threat. Eugene trying to do too much
I see your point but another competent ball handler could relieve Baker or free him up to focus more on scoring. We definitely need a consistent inside scoring threat as well.

It was textbook hook and hold. Hate the rule, but it was exactly the right call.

it was (kinda). but I saw a much worse example in the Maryland game that wasn't close contest and it was let go after review. Announcer (Chrispin .sp)said the same thing. "textbook" . This game is tight and they called it. As both announcers said both times, both games. Its a common foul. Call it and move on. (pulling a guy onto the floor is another issue). Grabbing and holding? come on.

agreed. Shaq Carter looked really good and efficient around the rim. On one of his buckets, Happ fouled him twice and still no call. He fouled him with a push from the back on the entry pass and then when he went up. Shaq Carter showed me a nice ability to finish around the rim. Nothing fancy either. Simply using head fakes and the back board, which I wish more of our players would do rather than going for the showtime finish

Like I said, I hate the rule and the emphasis this year on it. Just call a regular foul and move on. If they want to emphasize safety, maybe emphasize moving picks in the backcourt, especially, when teams are pressing and guys are turning to chase the ball handler and run smack into the biggest guy on the floor, who slides just enough to hammer the defender, like Happ did last night. That's akin to the "defenseless" WR rule in football where a guy catches his ball with his back to the D and then turns and is hammered by the defense. Nowhere else on the court, usually, are picks so dangerous, as they are when pressing in the backcourt and the guys chasing have no clue a 250-300 pound mountain is going to be there when they turn to chase the offense.

yeah,I wasn't saying otherwise. that's called "building" off your point lol.

you're comments about the pick make too much sense. it will never happen until a "star" gets hurt. The only thing consistent in big business and big government is the inconsistency and lack of common sense.
