We are so easy to defend. No one can beat anyone off the dribble. As soon as it goes to the post, double team forcing the outside shot that no one can hit. Wash rinse repeat.
Exactly why I was calling for more minutes for Caleb Mathis and Harper. At least they can do something with the ball. Thiam and Kiss and basically only catch and shoot threats. Mulcahey and Young both have this skill set though so help is on the way

compare them to other schools and they are not...these teams have 5 Mathis and one stud.....we do not
Chicken or egg argument. Gotta win to get the recruits, but need the recruits to win. How are we gonna break this nasty cycle we’re in?

Realistically we had to expect a couple blow outs this year. On the road with no EO and banged up McConnell against a team like Purdue that can light up the score board on the road is one that makes sense

Welcome back to Jokeville. "You heard that right folks Purdue by 40", straight from the B1G sports desk.

you need to bring better players than all of them in the next 2 years...can Pike do it. These are nice players and Mathis could be a legit star BUT its obvious we are way behind the rest of the league in talent. In fairness they are young but I just think they are not the explosive shooters we will need to actually make the tourney
What is so disturbing is that Rutgers still is unable to recruit shooters which puts the program at a serious disadvantage because the 3 point shot is a difference maker in basketball.

Harper was supposed to be a great shooter, so was McConnell.

Lets pull the upset!

I’m upset...

RU down by 40

We can’t hit free throws

We can’t hold onto the ball

Geo makes some horrible passes

This shouldn’t be playing whether EO is playing or not

Kiss needs to hustle and hit dots or he should sit

Mathis, McConnell , Harper ... Johnson , Geo , Carter and Mulchay ( next year)

Build on Mathis Harper McConnell Carter Johnson Geo EO and add Young Mulcahey plus TBD and we should be much better next season. Mulcahey and Young both bring skills we lack. People who can create off the dribble in Mulcahey and a quick guard who can score in Young
same projections every year

And when we beat Northwestern on Friday, everyone will be flying high again.

I actually expect us to win on Friday...even after this. NW has played some good games including a 2 point loss to Michigan but that is a very winnable game. They are not that good and I think we match up very well with them.

Purdue is not that much better than Rutgers. Geo must work on stable drives. As fot Kiss and Thiam, I think Rutgers is far better off playing their freshman.
