We're getting worse at the Breslin Center... OT 3 years ago, double digit lead last year, now this shart of a game that people are applauding. We're better than this

We don’t have the killer instincts

we don’t have the killer instincts or confidence to make a few more plays against these teams especially in the road . We’re satisfied being close .

and to grow as a program we need to win games like these against better opponents...or bring the same level of play against Pitt or middling St Bonaventure. If you keep getting the same results whether its a top 10 school or a 200 school then it means you are really arent moving forward

and we have been doing that for a program for two decades now, how many of these close games vs ranked teams in the past...vs MSU seemingly the last 3 years. we saw it during Rice and during Waters and during Bannon...just not good enough
not enough offensive firepower

We all know from last game that's a cylinder foul on Winston.
Was just thinking this myself . It’s not the calls against us that anger me it’s the lack of consistency . Same thing with moving screens . How many did they call on Sparty tonight ?

for me I wouldnt applaud, but given what we looked like vs Pitt and St Bonnies, I do feel better..most importantly Mulcahy looked sharp and we will need him for Wisconsin to play a big role

For the negativity about coaching what is truly obvious today is we just don’t have Big 10 caliber players. We just don’t. We keep seeing this type of game because we haven’t upgraded our talent. Pikiell needs to make changes to his staff at the end of the year. We need guys on staff who are ruthless on the recruiting trail.

What game are you watching? Offensive basketball was horrible. Too much one on one, bad turnovers, Myles and Geo invisible

All and all, with poor games from Harper, Myles and Baker, team played ok as it was good to see step up games from Mulcahy and Yeboah. We need to somehow jell and win a big game on the road. MSU is #11 for a reason.

This is kinda where we should be at this point, RU basketball coming off the Eddie Jordan era was not getting many guys that other schools really wanted. We get guys who can make plays at this level but have holes in their game. Just wish those holes weren't so often "outside shooting" and "free throw shooting."

Man I wish we could have played this game at home, but if we have to lose to MSU, better we do it on the road. Now on to two big games at the RAC.

The starting lineup needs to change the rotations need to change as well. You can see who enjoys playing with who like Young/Mathis backcourt is effective. Not sure what to make of Geo this year.

Aren’t you a little curious why we never play well against teams with better talent? I think there may be a theme.
What are you talking about, we've played several good games against top 15 teams under Pike and taken teams to the final minute or OT. This wasn't one of them.

Pike seemed to have low energy this game. Izzo is a nuclear reactor compared to Pike.

Our only positive offensive contributor was from a guy who won't be here next year - Yeboah. Enjoying the build.

Sorry I should not have said ”never“ I should have said ”95% of the time”

it’s on him not his staff. Recruiting is part of coaching.

While we did ourselves few favors this game, I do look at the MSU series and shrug, they just have too many good players and one or more of them are going to make a few plays to win. It's a little frustrating but that's a great program. Much more frustrating to me is the fact that we haven't really been competitive against Maryland, who is typically not in the same class as MSU or Michigan. We've stolen one or two from everyone else.
