Betting the second half on the other team against Rutgers all season has been such a money maker. No different today. Illinois was -5.5 in the second half and are already covering.

Illini came on like a rocket recently to get to within one game of probably making the big Dance.. And then they faced Rutgers.....

Thiam needs to put on weight. Needs to make foul shots.

Thiam is playing because of defense .His height and long arms are a asset on defense.On offense Rutgers lacks a small forward that can score.Its like playing 5 against 4 in most games.

For short periods in the second half Rutgers had 1 or 0 offensive threats on the court.Its amazing they stayed in the game.

Sa is playing because Gettys can't defend the Illinois center.There were frequent offensive /defensive switches during the end game between Gettys and SA.

I would guess everybody at the RAC thought Sanders was going to take the last shot but he was double teamed and passed to Freeman for a 3 pointer from Douby territory ,way out from the basket.It has to rank with some of the most memorable shots to win a game at the RAC.

This was a great team win because of the outstanding defense holding Illinois to 59 points.On offense Williams made 2 straight 3 pointers to stop a Illinois run.Sanders came on strong in the last 5 minutes after a rather poor effort prior to crunch time.Freeman was the star of the game with 21 points and was the only player that was a major scorer in both halves.A nail biter that turned out to be a great win.What a way to end the regular season!I liked when Hobbs got on the mike and urged the fans to stand and cheer with to 2 minutes to go.

Only showed the before and after, not the during. He definitely ended up on the floor, but the official was right there too.

He'll have about a 10 year head start on Freeman so let him practice. Glad he enjoyed it.

Love the effort of this team all year. Could have packed it in down by 10 but Coach P made some great adjustments. Hobbs gets it. Great to see Mincah leading the cheers. Not often that I stay and sing our alma mater but had to soak in the win and atmosphere. Now go win a game or two in D.C.! The RAC will be rocking next year!!!M

Just finished watching the game on the DVR. Really happy for the team. They kept at it all year. Positive attitude. Never gave up. Showed tremendous character. It is really great they got this one especially after a few close ones that went the other way. And congratulations to all the seniors. You have a lot to be proud. Now go get them in the B1G tournament and surprise a few people!
