the 'talent is substandard' crowd are suffering from a mental dislocation because no one wants to admit it looks like we've got a dud in a hire and are stuck with him

tackling
preparation
scheme (how many times do I have to watch 3 down lineman rush and ntey still complete a pass
receivers are not running crisp routes
lineman are not getting under the shoulders
I could go on......Floods teams didn't make so many fundamental mistakes and I couldn't stand Flood
We're paying twice as much for Ash as we did for Flood. Of course we have to believe we didn't blunder on the coaching hire. I think this guy can coach just fine when he has top flight talent. But he has no game plan when it's substandard. I think that's what happened in his time at Arkansas too.

Only buffoons that have never played or don't understand football even mention coaching as the issue with this team.

They are simply small, slow and not that talented overall.
And, have an atrociously bad starting QB who is not good enough to start at Kean.

Flood ruined the program since he did not recruit well.
Also, guys like Boggs, Stephenson would be making a big difference out there.

RU is simply a very bad football team right now.

A 1 or 2 win season but Ash will recruit better players and improve, give it time.

At this point we have to hope this year's poor performance doesn't affect recruiting, especially with our current class. We need them to start building a foundation.

God this offensive scheme is so tantalizing. The potential is there to light up the scoreboard, but we don't have the right personnel. If we had a true dual threat runnin the show, then I really see us putting up some points. A dual threat running an up tempo spread is a great formula
but we don't, so a good coach should adjust the scheme to the talent he has. Not sure why Grant isn't on field as much as possible

This team was screwed with Carroo leaving. What's going to happen to next year's when Grant is gone?

any coach can do great with top flight talent. The mark of a great coach is what he does with what he has which is what happened at Ark and is happening here. This team looks lost

a strategic retreat from your original opinion is very wise, a good adjustment

If Ash does not bench Lav in the 2nd half I agree that is on coaching!
And there should be an ABC News investigation on what evidence of war crimes, FCC and other human rights violations does Laviano have on TWO coachimg staffs.

You have to give someone else a chance to show what they can do. VS HOWARD!!!!

Practicing those FGs last week helped a lot. Our kicker is an expert at kicking with the winds coming off Husky Stadium.

Enough with the talent argument. We're tied with a team that doesn't even get a 2 star player. On paper we have vassssstly more talent than this opponent. This unfortunately is on coaching, plain and simple. Let's just hope Ash is the type of coach that improves his team each and every week
