I was there in the student section (at least I think it was the student section). We were in the endzone. After tailgating for two days before it is all blurry.

Zap That must have been the same guy who kicked my buddy in the *** as we walked down the ramp after the game ..We should have won that damned game.

Was there as well. Always thought that if we won that game it would've changed our fortunes immensely.

The Bear's actual quote after the game was classic....."We were luckier than a two dicked dog". Yes that is also what he said. Not one for the public but a lockerroom statement.

Frank Burns was and always will be known to many fans and alumni as Rutgers greatest coach. A man of both character and equally important coaching ability and knowledge. The shame of it all is how the athletic administration failed to fully support him and the program and went out and tried to do something by hiring Anderson and providing him with some things that were needed at the time. Those of us who knew Frank and/or rooted for him will never forgive how this was done. True to his character Frank never publicly or even to friends complained and later on was a regular attendee at home games and was a friend to and respected by the other coaches that followed. Yet he and his staff members knew that if given the same support via some of the changes that were provided to Anderson the program would have succeeded. Following that it still took twenty years and a change in administration to get Rutgers on track.

Found this. Was anybody there?

Found this too. This was the infamous "What's a Rutgers" that we won:

POSITIVELY was at GS for the
'Bama game.Talked a bunch of guys that I lifted with into going. They all thanked me for getting them to go.Said it was GREAT.It really was a very GOOD experience. It would have been GREAT if we had won.The crowd was into it and the place was ELECTRIC.Didn't
go to the Vols game but had the pleasure of running the projector ,with the game film,at a Football Breakfast, the next week. Frank had to go back to his office for something and I offered to finish the game for him. The film was not up to today's standards but everyone was delighted to see that WIN.I don't
even want to think of what happened the next game.Ru has had more than their share of sorry weeks after great games.
