He was scared. I believe he said it would take at least 7 years for RU to become successful. Steve got us to 20 wins in his fourth year and we finished 1919-20 as # 28 in Kenpom but no NCAA Tournament that season because of the pandemic. Steve has done a remarkable job.

I love Pike and am glad we have him over Hurley. However, Danny said the 7 year thing after Rice got fired, not after Eddie got fired. Just for the clarification.

Scared to take the Rutgers job or was UConn offering a bigger compensation package and....is UConn willing to look the other way on things RU isn't?

Danny did say 7 years at the time of Rice getting fired. There is no way Hurley would have been successful at RU following Rice. They are mirror images of each other. All of the things that got Rice in trouble the Hurley's pretty much invented.

Don't get me wrong, I can't stand Dan Hurley. I actually agree with you. Ijust wanted to give you an opportunity to stay scared again.

The last time Connecticut lost at South Florida Hurley would not come in the media room to answer questions from the full media contingent. He sent word that he would answer questions outside his locker room. Only the Connecticut media got up and went to his locker room.

As they were leaving I shouted "Is he scared to come in here?"

I was really hoping that one of them would tell him I said that and that he would come in and punch me so I could sue lol.
