Men's soccer, which is 2-1 all in conference, is stepping up, as did women's crew last year, with a national ranking. Gymnastics has been getting better steadily, Field Hockey has been ranked for the past few years, and baseball recruiting has improved. Wrestling and women's soccer have been strong programs for several years now.

So there are many signs of progress. It has taken awhile but RU is now competitive with the rest of the B1G.

It’s amazing what happens when you actually get paid closer to the same amount as your competitors so you can actually hire quality coaches and build good facilities to recruit to like they all can!!

Softball (0-6), tennis & swimming/diving still have a ways to go in the Big Ten.

Does anyone know where we stand in the annual college cup standings (I forget the actual name. CapOne Cup?)

Softball coach husband is gone . Not part of the program. I think she will build this program coming from a softball factory like Florida. Just needs to get an entire roster of kids who want to play in the big time.—If we are going to have any clunker sports, swimming and tennis aren’t too important. Everything can’t become major Division 1 overnight. Remember folks, it hasn’t even been a decade.

Her first couple years she was competitive. She has been recruiting well thus far. I don't know what is going on with the start of this season but I still have high hopes for this coach.

Just took a look at the box scores and season stats and noticed the stud freshman catcher Wingert was not listed as well as some of the better pitchers from previous years. Don't have any info the reason.

Exactly. Few people care if swimming or tennis are uncompetitive in the B1G. Lax, soccer, wrestling, field hockey, women's crew, baseball, etc are sports that RU can and should win and be successful in the B1G.

We have one of the better swimming faciities in the east or north east. My daughters swam at Werblin every year in major swim events including the junior olympics.

Ladies basketball just beat psu 60-55. The winning continues
Tough game, but they gutted it out down the stretch. They were double teaming Arella the whole second half and she made some excellent passes leading to key baskets. Just a tremendous player who found another way to win without forcing the issue.

True. She's gonna be missed.

How 'bout Diamond Johnson? Bona fide star right there. Only a freshman, but with the poise of a senior.

Wonder why we're struggling then. Maybe the team isn't fully funded with scholarships?

Being ranked as one of the Top 50 universities in the world, being in the Big Ten, the RWJ Saint Barnabas Center, the Rodkin Center, all the new and planned dorms, the New Brunswick Performing Arts Center, the new Med and Dental schools, huge TV money, large budgets for head and assistant coaches, growth of the university, skyrocketing applications, almost every sport on national TV, massive increases in donations in academics and athletics—it is finally all coming together.
