We got pretty manhandled in Rebounds tonight, unfortunate since that has been our good stat. Purdue just too much height and great athletes. Also our guys afraid to fight for the ball now because of so many fouls on touches (Gettys is effectively done with 4 fouls he's not trying too hard for anything the rest of this game), too bad and that changes games. How we lost to Wisco

We better hope Pikiell can recruit, because our overall talent is really, really poor.

yup and I dont want to see the threads about we need just one scorer...we need alot more to actually win...yeah one scorer and we can compete better but the goal isnt to be 16-15, its to be 22-9 and make the NCAA tourney and to do that we will need a power forward, forward, shooting guard, point guard and center

Shame Nigel had to have his best game of the year for this beat down. Could have used this performance in one of the winnable games.

and thats the problem with this team...never seem to have a game where everyone is shooting well. One game Corey and Mike are great, next game Mike disappears, next game Corey is brutal and Nigel has a career night

This game is a microcosm of Rutgers being over matched at every position with height and talent. Against a opponent like Purdue there is no place for Rutgers to hide their offensive woes ..Dorsan will be taking Rutgers first foul shot which he missed.74-48 Purdue 2 minutes to go.

Pike has to recruit. This talent is the BIG stink. Team plays hard, but it's about wins at this level. And we don't win.

Look...in a 3 minute stretch... Haas is tough under the boards...but he ran over Williams to get the rebound and Mike gets the foul, Getty's (possession before or after never touches the big 300lb guy and Getty's get's the foul..then Hass pushed Diallo away and Diallo gets the foul.

{Pikel yelling from his end of the court...down 15points..how about protecting your players and calling some of this BS out. It is part of coaching.

it is NOT the game...BUT it is how you get respect. Loved this about Kevin Bannon and Rice.

Like Pike but fracking get into SOMEBODY ...Please.

This is Jordanesque. Just remember this was a night in night out occurrence last year.

We need A LOT of new talent. A LOT. Pikiell has got to hit home run in Fall on recruiting trail or this program is dead meat. Hopefully he can find a couple of competent offensive players in the Spring/Summer that can play next year or we could easily be worse. (There will always be attrition).

sick stats

Swanigan 12 points, 17 boards
Haas 24 points, 11 boards

Purdue outrebounded RU 44-29

and this was not Purdue's best game at all

sad stats

Corey 3-14
Thiam 1-4
Gettys 1-5
Williams 1-7
Doorson 1-2
Laurent 0-2
Diallo 0-1
Sa 0-0

not going to be competitive deep in a game when 8 guys combine for 16 points on 7-35 shooting

19-points, the spread was 18. We held close for 28 minutes tonight out of 40 on the road with IMO the best team in the conference. I am impressed with Nigel. The rest of the team had 30 points, that's Purdue being great and us needing some more talent/height/weight. Recruit recruit recruit and keep those news guys fighting like the guys on here do now and we'll have something. Excited for the final 3 game home stretch (think NW will be similar to tonight).

Jordanesque would've been losing by 45 points and Purdue emptying their bench with 10 minutes to go. Just talentless offensively.

Purdue is very good and is the class of the B10. I think they could go far in the tourney. Haas is huge and we couldn't do anything with him, and they have Swanigan and all the three point shooters. Still, we played decently against them, all things considered. Some of our guys had off games, but I thought Dorson played well and got very good experience going up against Haas. To me, it's Purdue and the rest of the league, which includes us. On to the next game.

Lots of needs but where are the recruits that can get Rutgers out of the morass?I'm getting tired of watching this inept offense. Its really hard to believe that one team can be so bad at shooting the ball and next season could be even worse as the opponents talented freshmen get more experience.

I think we can matchup against any team in this conference besides MSU and Purdue. Let's stay as far away from them in the Tourney bracket and see what happens. I'd rather face Wisconsin / Maryland / NW.

G-Ru do you enjoy taking shots at Williams? Purdue is just too damn big and we need a 6'9" kid who can score.

Definitely not Jordanesque and usually a great effort but I am not sure how we really get any better next year with a couple of ok recruits and the lose of Gettys will be much bigger than people think. I cannot imagine Doorson getting Gettys minutes next year.

Shields do you enjoy raving about Williams and taking shots at Corey? Purdue is just too damn big and we need a 6'9" kid who can score. And if you can't find him get some outside shooters.

Can't score can't win will be the lasting mantra for this season.

G-Ru I have not written anything about Corey, nothing. Love the kid, i could not stand Daniels who was one of the dumbest players I have seen at Ru and I have watched for 40 years. My point with Williams is he is on the court with Eugene and Doorson who can't score and has to take late shots. Hawk wrote the same thing the other day so I am not the only one who has written that. Again Hawk wrote what i wrote but you must have reading problems.
