I was just thinking same thing....ideal candidate to step up in competition. Realistically, we just need to find our own Johsson.

Checked his Bio apparently played a lot of euro U-20 ball and got some recognition. Wonder if shoes knew about him. Goofy looking but can shoot.

So far we look like we're going to be one of those dangerous teams that no one likes playing because while there's no stars, there are a lot of players who look like they can step up on any given day.

Johnson needs to control tempo for us. Sanders needs to play more of a team game. Between Laurent, Sa, Thiam, Gettys, Freeman... there are some real hustle guys on this team which are very likable.

last year we only beat central arkansas team by 3, yr before we only beat st francis by 3, UNH by 4 & lost to st francis (PA) and st. peters...regardless of oponents this is a completely different team

Need to get the word around to PACK THE RAC.
Team is playing a brand of basketball that is fun to watch. Emphasis on defense and rebounding. Ball moves on offense. There will be games they have trouble scoring, but if they defend and rebound they have a fighting chance if someone gets hot. They keep playing this way and the fans will come. I know I'm probably going to see a few more games this year than I normally do.

Several guys in double figures--Nigel Johnson looked really good. 15 points, 6 rebounds, 7 assists, a steal--looked like he played within himself, while Sanders and Williams did not always do that. Those two were a little helter skelter. But plenty of depth this year. The new guys can play. Granted, Drexel is smaller and less physical, but we got minutes for a lot of people; were favored by what, 9 and were over 20 most of the second half. Let's see how it goes against Depaul.

And the good news is....... Most of these guys are new to each other so they should get much better as a team as the season moves on. Also, guys coming off injuries will also get better physically, AND, recruits have to like what they see going on here. Go RU.

Can we get that Kari Jonsson kid from Iceland on Drexel to transfer. Nails every open 3 look he gets.
He missed several open 3's but I get what you mean. We need pure shooters from the outside. I'm sure Pikiell knows that already. You have to like what you saw from Issa and Laurent.

I did not check, but, I heard they are small, like only a few guys over 6'5 small...... due to injuries. Gettys may have a big game
We'll find out for sure who's injured in about 15 mins.. I'll watch a little my Giants don't play till Monday. I'll have to make my way back to the RAC for some basketball, instead of just wrestling. Those last few years were unwatchable. Now at least we look like we comprehend the game.

Worth noting that unlike for football, RU doesn't think terrorists are going to sneak bombs into the RAC that's hidden in food.

Brought in plenty of snacks for my son in plain view of security. Guess they don't care about the "safety" of basketball fans!

We are going to be a team that people will not want to play. May not win but will test people and not beat ourselves. Amazing what a coach can do in basketball.

I know it's only Drexel, but I like this team. Last year, this would've been a close game. We have height that we never had before, two good guards (and Williams is pretty good too), some wing players, a deep bench and a coaching staff that coaches. We'll at least be competitive, but it's hard to tell because of the teams we faced so far. It's night and day compared to last year.
