yup once again the lack of ability to get that ball through the hoop is apparent but at least we look like we know what we are doing out there (which is a huge change)

Nigel johnson needs to play more under control at times but i love his energy and quickness. We also need to make smarter psses. Besides that great effort and intensity. Were taking care of business thus far. LOVE gettys haha. Hes gotta be a fan favorite in school

For those who are following this thread and haven't had the chance to tune in... we have a 7 foot, 280 pound white guy named C.J. Gettys playin center. He's a grad transfer from UNC Wilmington. He's just huge. Throws his weight around ALOT. Bullies smaller players. Reminds me of later-career Arvydas Sabonis with the drop steps and jogging back on defense.

Now, when we play in the heart of the B1G he might get abused because he's slow, but he's never going to get physically dominated. So that's a plus.

Agree.....he is super quick. Sometimes being that fast you think you can go around everybody every time. Coach will get him to penetrate and pass.

Defense especially at end of half was good love Sa controlling boards at end of half.. He's earning playing time

A lot to like so far. We are deep and well coached. As posted above, a couple of our guys can have an off night and we will still compete. Practices must be fierce to earn playing time now.

At 7 feet, 280 he will pound it and score plenty down low or get fouled. AND....he makes foul shots. Space eaters can be effective.

SirPerceval - They can, but Corey hasn't had the best game today so there hasn't been a lot of opportunity for that to happen.
