Things not looking too good with Anthony Russo. Just tweeted a pic with Temple after in home visit.

Do the math folks:

- Ash get RU job
- Ash calls and speaks with Russo over the phone.
- Russo will not comment on his conversation with Ash.
- Temple gets an in home visit and Russo tweets out a picture.

I am not too sure how much Ash wants Russo.

well, if we go to a spread with a mobile qb, I hope Ash knows who he is going to plug into the qb spot.... I would hate to pass on Russo in any case.

Let me know when you can tweet a phone call.[winking] There is a big difference in tweeting a picture and discussing a private conversation.

Russo was an Elite 11 QB. They don't exactly grow on trees. I'm not saying he'd be the best fit for a spread offense, but considering that the next elite QB we have here will be the first, I wouldn't be quick to wish him gone.

you should know by now we over analyze everything, and make quick and sometimes inaccurate assumptions...it is what we do..... if you don't like it, skip the thread...

I hope Russo comes. I also am not concerned about any single recruit. Ash has got this.

Russo re-tweeted a video this morning posted by an RU student which has a tagline of something like "Ash & Russo - a new era at RU". The video itself was well edited with Russo HS highlights, his announcement to commit to RU, and cuts from Ash's intro press conference.

So for those of you that follow every tweet .. RU is back in favorable twitter land with Russo. Although I would say re-tweeting comes with less conviction and punch than something he originally wrote himself.

Not sure how you make this leap. One kid is a dead pro style QB with no chance of playing D back and the other is a great athlete with a good arm who could probably excel at many positions.

Walker is not built to play QB in the NFL but if that is his dream I hope he continues to chase it.

He's likely to do very well in college wherever he goes. That said, he's not bigger than this program or its need to get rid of Flood.

If he decommits, then he decommits; the program will be fine. I have faith that Ash can get us an equally good (or better) QB in 2017 that fits his system.

Also, not for anything, just a few years ago this program survived 13 decommitments, and many of those athletes were as good or better than Russo (not a knock on him). Again, we will be fine.

Not sold on Russo as a solid RU guy until I see him wearing Scarlet Sneakers. Just sayin...:)

Temple has Walker next year, Nutile for the next two and they also recruited some kid from California coming in next year that they are very high on. I actually think he would have a better shot to play early at Rutgers.

I wouldn't say we survived. Led to our coach being fired and talent level is depleted on team for next year because of that class. That class was one reason why team was so awful this year.

---- looking at where we wound up this year, it does appear those defections cost us big.... Onward and upward from here.
