"I stand behind the university, my coach and my brothers who were deceived and falsely accused of taking part in something they chose not to be a part of or may not have known the much deeper intentions of Mr. McGee and Ms. Powell."

I love this quote! [laughing] I guess the Louisville players involved were just so naive that they didn't realize having sex with prostitutes was illegal and probably frowned upon by the NCAA.

Their idiot fans probably ate that up. It happens when you're infested with the dumb ***.

I believe the University of Louisville is trying to use the "Chewbacca Defense" from South Park to try to get off easier.

Chewbacca defense - " is the name given to a legal strategy in which the aim of the argument seems to be deliberately confused the jury rather than to factually refute the case of the other side"

I think Russ needs to look up the definition of what an adult is in this country. He keeps referring to all of his teammates as kids. No sir, they were all adults, with the exception of the recruits THAT WERE NOT 18 YEARS OLD YET AND WERE, IN FACT, KIDS. That's what really makes this so bad.
I like Russ Smith, from everything I've seen of him, he has a drive and he has class, but he's wrong here. This is bad and he needs to understand that. He obviously doesn't get it.

Serious question....has anything Katina said been proven untrue? Because until someone proves she lied about things I'm going to believe her since she has been right about everything else until now.

No, in fact those idiots are going to appeal even though they have admitted this all happened! So if you admit it happened, then you admit the players were ineligible. If they were ineligible and you admit that, what the hell are you appealing??

Poor Russ never did wake up.

This is hilarious and all. But on a serious note, what parent would look at this 3 second video and say they want this guy to coach their son? I know there's a lot of screaming and yelling and not nice words that go on in sports, but I think stuff like this and the middle finger from a couple of years back is a good representation of who Rick is as a person. Why would anyone want to play for this man? Especially now. Go play for UofL and be ashamed to tell people about it, or go to Kentucky, be a superstar all over town, and then make millions more in the NBA than you would have coming out of Louisville. Talking to you, Langford.

The thing is that these sort of shenanigans is what attracts certain types of players to UL. UL is a ghetto commuter school who cheated their asses off in order to try to keep up with UK. Their education is weak, their school is a dump and their coach is a lying, unethical POS who will sit them on the bench so they won't leave as early as they could elsewhere. It's truly sad and they got off easy for it.

Eh, the video is nothing. Cal has a reputation of being much worse to his players than Pitino in terms of *** chewing and riding them to psychosis. Ive told the story before of being at closed memphis practices and sering Cal ride Antonio Anderson so hard he left the floor and nearly quit. It was Knight like agression. Cal is brutal he just doesnt show it as much as others in public. Gary Parrish has said K has the worst mouth in basketball and Cal isnt far behind. Just their nature. Everything WE see from Cal is for public viewing.

So the video is eh, but i do see your point. Srrippers in dorms, hookers, coaches selling women to kids, the fraud scandal, hiring a man like Petrino, the Jurich and Ramsey scandal, tax fraud (the yum), etc Its just a rogue university program pretending to be about education and all the while running a professional operation.

Do ya ever notice how the two programs who whine the most about 4 year players and education are unc and ul?

Pitino coaching defense boils down to just foul the guy.

The Karen Sypher thing would have done it for me if I was a big time HS recruit or his patent. The hooker issue is just another nail in the ugly side of his legacy.

I've been to dozens of UK practices under Cal...he's very demanding, but he's not that bad. Put it this way, if he did in a practice what Pitino did in that video, every head in the room would turn.

Russ...please keep talking about this...
Imagine what it would be like if otis did take this to the courts and guys like smith had to testify under oath?
I kinda hope they do sue the ncaa and go to court and get slammed.

Then, next up the turdheels, after the precedent setting butt raping of lil' bro.

Lol.

Did what Pitino did in that video? That video is nothing. Hell, Cal called Terrence Jones a selfish mf on national tv.

Being at an open practice in public viewing with kids is not really a "real" practice. I said I was in a closed practice in memphis. Cal is known as a coach who CAN be brutal to the players. All of these coaches can be. Political correctness is not part of it.

All Pitino said in that video is wake the F up. If that hurts someones feelings then better stay away from competing in sports at every level past middle school, if that.[/QUOTE]

It really doesn't matter how innocent he thinks he is. Fact is, coaches arranged and paid for this. Now I know why they called him Russdiculous. (dumbest nickname in history). The ho-stank is upon them.

Russ Smith another under developed by Pitino..other than UL fans, who really gives a crap about anything he has to say about anything. NCCA made their ruling, it is time for UL and Company to man up and take their medicine.

As much as I hate Pitino, I gotta disagree with you here about Smith. He was a 3 star guard who couldnt get offers from any major school except for Louisville. I think his other best offer was Rutgers and St. Johns. He couldn't get an offer from any other big northeast school like UConn and Syracuse. So, to say he was under developed is a bit inaccurate if you ask me. Quite the opposite actually as he turned out to be one of the best players in the country that year. My hate for Pitino runs as deep as anyone's but I gotta call it like I see it too. Pitino did a good job with Smith.
