We had the #4 rush offense in the conference last year
Our leading rusher was AM

What are people’s perception of AMs rushing numbers that were a result of designed runs versus broken play scrambles

Don’t think we are going to have the broken play scramble numbers we did last year … obviously those yards can be made up in other facets

We will be fine. Glad AM is gone
Please don’t misinterpret my post as being concerned about losing AM

Just inquiring whether the majority of our rushing yards by our leading rusher came out of designed runs or from broken play scrambles

seemed he got alot of rushing yards on 3rd down, when we needed a 1st down..
they went to that well alot.
I think adrian would have been a good run/pass qb under dr. tom's system...like a steve taylor
it's will be interesting how he does at k-state...and how they use him.

Thompson can run but prefers to find an open receiver to get the ball to. This is exactly what we need.

Rahmir is getting some mad disrespect on here lately. I thought he looked awesome last year.

Combine him with all the other options on the roster, plus a QB who’s capable of running, and I think the run game will be fine. Especially with the meaner attitude of Raiola.

I mean if you like 4.4 YPC and speed on the edge. 😂

People doubt Rhamir because of his durability. Think he can’t handle the rock at a full work load because he got injured last year.

People seem to not see that the biggest wear and tear on RJ last season was probably due to pass blocking. Remember at one point AM was the most blitzed QB in the nation. Plus our O-line wasn’t very good in pass protection. I’m willing to bet that had more to do with RJ being hurt then his rushing considering for a while he was the only trust worthy back in pass protection.

he’s also the only back on the team that has any proven cut back ability at this level. I think RJ isn’t done yet and will continue to improve and disprove all the haters. Even then there will be a few guys talking about Belt and his 3 carries that we could have drove a truck thru cause the O-line opened up a whole so big.

Yeah because Martinez struggled mightily to make quick decisions when a window was there, hold the ball longer than he should, and proceed to make the throw he should've before but only after said window had closed. Blitz the hell out of him and you increase pressure which exacerbates the decision making problem.

Rahmir is fully sufficient as a piece of the puzzle. But NU has to have at least one other back pop with productivity that exceeds the productivity that he has last year (693 rushing and receiving). Johnson's ability as a receiver is beneficial to what Whipple is wanting to do. It's a shame that Yant is such a knothead, as he brings the big guy who is hard to tackle feature to the run game.
