Rupp seats more than Madison Square Garden (last I saw) and a lot of season ticket holders are old money. It's a noon tip off, on a Saturday, against a team we should steam roll.

Corporate Kentucky owns the lower arena and as long as it does it will be this way. That's why there has been a never ending debate about an on campus arena. Each time Kentucky talks about it downtown sweetens the deal. I love Rupp but wish it would be louder and more enthusiastic in the lower arena, it is what it is.

The OP starts threads like this all the time. I’m convinced he’s never been to a UK game. He has no clue what Rupp is really like.

trying to give the crowd noise based on TV is dumb. It all depends on where the mics are placed.

I just talked to my buddy who was there and he said the crowd was very good today.

I was at the game, per usual, and the crowd was good. Not like the Louisville game but very good for a mediocre sec opponent.

Sounds like it maybe just didn’t translate on the ESPN broadcast. I felt like you could hear a pin drop in there. I guess it was better than it sounded on tv.

Yeah because the standing around pounding the dribble for 25 seconds really fires the crowd up
Did you even watch the game?

The last few games the guys are finding their roles. Other than short periods during the games (which every team has), the offense has had much better flow

Well it does give them more credibility then us at home. ;)

100%. just saying, I mean I think it’s probably okay to make the observation that the crowd seems quiet even if you’re at home. People got sensitive about this one though!

Look guys and gals...Rupp Arena is what it is. It's been this way since I was at UK WAAAAAAAAY back in the 80's. People that donate large sums of money will get the best seats (lower arena along the sides) and don't expect those people to be standing and cheering throughout the entire game....it's not going to happen...EVER! It is what it is unfortunately. Unless UK changes the set up for seating (NOT GOING TO HAPPEN!!!) then things will continue on as they are at Rupp. Sorry, but that's reality.

Except you didn’t say the crowd “seemed” quiet. You said “absolute silence” for 1:57 which is totally false. I was there and it was a very good crowd! Sensitive? Maybe just tired of people complaining about the crowd when they’re not even there to know.

To be fair I didn’t say that.

The game starts and it's quiet. Then Keion makes a shot and theres a short cheer 40 seconds in.

One minute 10 seconds in still quiet.

UK scores again at 1:45 and theres a short cheer

2:35 and a quick cheer for a rebound

2:55 in and a quick cheer for EJ

3:15 in and ball goes out off UK. Short cheer

3:30 in and a short cheer for a UK block

Im not going to sit here and document this whole game The atmosphere just over 4 minutes in isn't great. UK fans cheer for short periods of time when a play is made. There has been nothing sustained the first 5 minutes of this game.

8 minutes in and still the same lame crowd.

ah, so if you’re not there you can’t say anything about the crowd. Gotcha
Exactly! Glad you understand! If you don’t go, don’t ***** about the ones who actually do. Maybe if you cheer loud enough, the team can hear you from your couch! By the way, there were seats available if you want to help improve the environment.

Also, if you aren’t at the game, you don’t truly get a feel for the crowd. Tv can drown out the crowd.

Sometimes you can tell when it’s quiet on tv, but it sounds like according to the radio guys it was better than it sounded.

I mean okay point taken on not being there, but I live almost 4 hours from Lexington, have a 5 and 7 year old at home and work a million hours a week and am gone overnight traveling a couple nights a week. Going to the game involves a little more than “just getting off the couch.” But I gotcha. I’ll zip it about the crowd

Ive been to 5 games. The crowd has never been impressive. I guess I need to go to more UL style games to hear the good crowds.
