I haven’t been to Rupp Arena in a couple years but I hope the place is super loud for our home games starting tonight.
It’s defiantly the best sixth man in college basketball when it’s rocking.
I’ve been to a few games where it’s so loud it hurt my ears!!

Rupp Arena's environment is closely tied to the level of opponent.

For big OOC and conference games, it's one of the best there is.

Against Robert Morris, it leaves a lot to be desired. It's still Rupp and still a ton of people, which does make an impact.

Hard to complain about Rupp's atmosphere when all the really big OOC games are played on a neutral site, and never come to Rupp.

I’ll be surprised if we have 75% of capacity tonight.

visiting teams sure seem to like shooting in it in the first half.

Rim must be slightly bigger on that end of the court.

If you look hard you could probably find someone excited about UK playing Robert Morris.

They are meeting at DeSha's on the corner for drinks before the game

Many years ago Rupp Arena was feared by opponents and was worth a minimum of 10 points a game most nights. Those days are over.

I was at the game when Kansas was in town and the crowd was as loud as it could be.With these next 7 weak home games it's hard to get all that exited.

The notable exception being Ohio. They are a good team, played in the tournament last season (beat Virginia in the first round). They return 4 starters from that team, including their best player, Ben Vander Plas.

That is a game we should win but can't sleepwalk through.

Yeah I get it. Maybe not the most challenging schedule.
It seems like these next 7 games could be a good opportunity for this team to figure out playing together and some offensive sets that would free up shooters to be comfortable in a game.
A couple of those teams will be good enough to put up a fight with some decent players.

Is there anyone who has a better all-time home winning percentage than UK does at Rupp? I doubt it, even after last year's debacle of a season. I know we have a better record at Rupp than Duke does at Cameron or Kansas does at Allen Fieldhouse, or UNC at the Dean Dome. Maybe if Gonzaga has built a new arena recently they would. This sounds like a research project for Jon Scott.

I find it difficult to stand and cheer while I knit my sweaters. Has anyone found a solution to this?

Per Jon Scott.
Our current record in Rupp is 615-77 for a 88.9 winning percentage.
Only a teeny bit better at Memorial: 307-38 for 89 percent winning percentage.

Eh, people choose to get loud or not. There are arenas all over the country where it is crazy loud no matter the opponent.
