I have the Affinity suite. I want to become proficient with it; however, work and the Catpaw keep getting in the way. :)

I am a technical trainer by trade, so Microsoft, Keynote, etc., are my go-to platforms. I tried developing an I.G. in Affinity Publisher, but with my limited skill set in publishing software, the text editing was frustrating to get things done quickly. Nevertheless, I will keep plugging away at it.

Now, I need my company to change everything out to Mac.

Sorry to derail such a fun thread. :)
Affinity is def legit...a lot less headaches in OSx, that's for damn sure. If you do go Mac, check out Motion, similar to After Effects but less cumbersome...in your line of work Articulate or Captivate would be a great tool to leverage if you expand further into multimedia.

No worries, I spend all day tinkering with codecs and waiting for videos to render, so I have a **** ton of time to kill most days.

Just wanted to say Coach K has already turned down the Lakers offer to become head coach. This now opens the door for Cal to take the job.

I'm headed down to 31 Flavors to see if I can pick up some more details.

Friend of a friend thing here, take it for what it's worth.

Guy I work with plays games with a few former UK football players. This part is legit, as I have played with them some too. They are still in touch with program.

Said they were talking last night that the athletic department is talking about Cal to the Lakers. Say contact has been made and there is more interest than what is being reported. Their guess was AD is trying to get LeBron behind bringing him there.

According to whomever they talked to in the athletic department, they think Cal is leaving. Said the feeling the athletic department has is that Cal is ready to leave and will look at other jobs if not LA.

I asked him about replacements and he said they had no idea.

Again, random rumor, take it for what it's worth

Is he worth 9 million a year for 5years to the Lakers ? Otherwise he's not leaving. He'd fit in great socially there.

UK is going to be a disaster next season, and Cal's "legacy" will be ruined, so he is probably legitimately considering a change. Not sure why that would surprise people. The man's ego is the biggest any of us have likely ever been around ...
If Oscar comes back and they get one home run in the portal , they're likely top 5

I think the NBA ship has sailed. Cal has lost some MOJO and his constant yelling and whining to players will not translate to nba players today. Every GM knows this. Where an NBA owner can be intrigued is if they think he can pull in former players as free agents, like Towns, etc

Why is he bothering to meet with a US Senator?
Maybe he feels he can be a voice for change, to help future players not have to deal with the ridiculous laws. Do people think Congress is going to change an age old law in time to for it to accommodate Oscar next season?

Besides, NIL is just another name for endorsements. Oscar is already a UK legend so to speak, he can easily go pro, and still collect from the same companies that would sponsor his NIL deals, as if he returned. Except, legally then. It’s a double win for Oscar in that regard.

Too good to be true. If Cal were to leave, I hope Mussleman would drop everything and come to Lexington. Well he could bring some of those recruits with him I suppose.
Do you really believe he would have an interest in Ky?

Agree. If the Lakers DID hire Cal (which I don't believe they have any interest in doing so), you would hear a resounding and collective "WTF!" from Lakers fans. They wouldn't want him.
Yeah and he thought we was crazy
My thoughts as well. When all of these things have been written of late about calipari being so far behind the times with his offensive philosophy, why would teams at the highest level want someone who coaches that way? Especially when so many of his guys have been "handcuffed by Cal at UK only to flourish later in a more wide open NBA offense." Just doesn't make logical sense to me.
I'm a Lakers fan my whole life and I would rather Shaq coach.

No, I don’t think it’s quite as easy as you suggest. Returning NPOY playing 35 minutes per night for high profile college program has different endorsement opportunities than end of the bench NBA or G-League former NPOY.

No matter how much some of the sponsors might like him, there’s an element of out of sight, out of mind. And the reality that fan support would be overwhelming for a returning OT when compared to an OT who goes pro.

I can definitely see this side of the argument as well! If I read the latest CBS article quoting OT correctly, Oscar is going to pray on the decision for another day or so, and he’s going to make a final choice of either returning or 100% leaving.

He was already going to go get “feedback”, but this sounded like either staying or hiring an agent.

We’ll know probably by EOD Friday 🙏

Yeah. I don't see a world in which the same NIL companies are lining up to hand money to Oscar on the bench or in the G-League.

He's a superstar here. Companies want to capitalize on that superstardom.
