Would be just an extra week of rest which is going help down the line. And more practice for the guys who don’t have it because they tested when got back in town. So guys who have it probably not around others at that time

Seen that coming... Nolan has been out with covid, and the previous videos show the team wearing masks even during closed practices... I figure it would bite us sometime soon.

If Adam Rowe says the games are going to be cancelled, that's a pretty good indication that they are off.

It's a shame, because I'd like to get Clemson out of the way early.

Just a guess but Duke and others are going to end up forfeiting some of these games as they will never be able to work out a rescheduled date unless the season is extended.

Just saw that according to Carolina Blitz, the two games this week are cancelled. We will play next on Jan 4 against Georgia tech

It's only a forfeit if we have enough players (7) and coaches (1) to play and elect not to. If we cancel because of not having enough, then it's declared no contest and doesn't impact either teams record. at least that's how I understand it.

Yeah I just saw that the ACC rescinded the forfeiture rule last week. That’s a good thing. Big East has yet to rescind theirs which is why DePaul is 0-2 without even playing a game. And vice versa for the opponents.

Don’t understand why Duke continues to experience Covid issues after having everyone vaxed, boostered and K talking about it constantly. The fear built into Covid is heading towards another shutdown.

Will rescheduling mean we have weeks where we have 3 games instead of 2? That wouldn't be so bad, especially for short travel games like Clemson, NC State, Wake and easy games like UNC.

With all these medical resources Duke has, why are they constantly hit with covid and foot injuries???

For those that got covid, does that mean they won't be tested regularly anymore since they will have antibodies? If they keep testing there will be more positives.

This news stinks. I'm glad the ACC make that cancelation policy. From what I understand- the next two games have no impact on record

All we can do is wait and hope that it is not wide spread. I really feel that Coach K and staff have done what they have been told to do to keep this from happening bt just like the rest if us who followed the guide lines set we are still getting covid no matter if we have gotten both vaciines, the booster, wearing mask and not attending large gatherings. My cousin just got out of the hospital. He had the vaciines and the booster. I don't want to sound like a downer but I feel we are gonna see new strains after new strains after new strains and new vaciines after new vaciines after new vaciines and still it will not be enough. I feel I have been decieved but don't know by who? I have no answer. OFC

How do we know that the cancellations are because of Duke's covid situation? OFC
DI I definitely believe it's Covid. My "Rumor Or Fact" dubbed thread was directed at whether the article I posted was fake news in regard to the CANCELLATION. I had never heard of the website, and it was the only service I could find reporting it.

The reason I definitely believe it's Covid? I think K saw it coming. Asst coach Nolan Smith recently tested positive, and K also made an adamant reference to NOT LIKING the FORFEIT RULE after our last game in the presser. We were also practicing with masks recently, and I think K knew it was inevitable.Just my take my very good friend. I am super bummed about it.

What are you talking about?? This is happening to EVERYONE. If not, it will be soon. The NBA currently has over 100 players out due to Covid. Don't act like this is a Duke problem.
Agree. It’s not like Duke has the secret sauce on how to avoid COVID. I’ll be shocked if these are the only games we have this season that get postponed. I also think it’s inevitable that we’re going to see an empty Cameron at some point. Which would be a real tragedy if K ends his home coaching career before an empty house.

Kids went home and came back with the virus. What could K do, keep the kids quarantined for the entire season?

If the US is like South Africa, Omicron should start subsiding in late January. We just have to get through the next 3-4 weeks. I hope.

It is a Duke problem. And a college football problem. And a college basketball problem. And an NBA problem. And an NFL problem. If this happens in 6 weeks, we miss the tourney for a third straight year. So yes, Duke has a problem

It's hard to take you seriously. It's a Duke problem, no it's an everyone problem, but wait it's a Duke problem.

I'm frustrated with the whole thing myself, but I'm sure as hell not blaming the team when this is happening everywhere.

Agreed this is a National problem. It’s become an joke at this point. It’s gone from one week to stop the spread to wait for the vaccine to this mess. I’m a surgeon in south Los Angeles so I don’t see this on a day to day basis but as far as hospitalizations, they’re nothing close to this time last year and there’s a mild uptick over the past few months as there is with the flu every year. We need to learn how to live with this.

Because the vaccines were and have always been created to deal with preventing severe illness. There is some, albeit small, immunity from catching the disease that comes with the vaccines but it isn’t 100%. Don’t understand why people continue to ask questions like that.

What in the vaccine that allows you to get covid but prevents you from getting really sick.

Seems we are healthy. Covid isn’t going make them not healthy if anything more rest and workouts etc which is good. We are all healthy before Covid so we are good
“Covid isn’t going to make them not heathy” and if anything more rest and workouts etc which is good.” Do what?!?

I’m sorry, but there is nothing in your post that makes a bit of sense. But, nothing in our society and from our “leaders” makes any sense either.
