I'm not saying this is definitely going to happen but the rumor going around at Monmouth is that Eddie Jordan's contract is going to be bought out and King Rice is going to take the job. Not sure how I would feel about it based on his baggage.

A rumor is just that.... A rumor, a statement that may or not be fact based. Good to liven up the board on a Saturday afternoon. It is unlikely King Rice is the next coach if EJ is fired. I disagree that it will be a public process. It may be but the hiring of Chris Ash was kept well under raps.

I wouldn't be surprised if Pat Hobbs is talking with RU FB and BB boosters about funding a potential coaching change at the end of the season. But that's the only part of the rumor that I'd give any thought to.

Julie dealt with an issue that Tim didnt have balls to deal with...cvs salary was cut to 700k and I think contact was for 4 years..think this is 2nd but not sure. I also suspect julie nudged cvs in getting rid of all her assistants to save $. I agree that Hobbs is evaluating the situation with Mens hoops and making a short list but thats about as far as it is
King Rice has baggage larger than Mike Rice.....not a chance he gets a major job.

CVS has a senior laden team that just lost to an 11-5 Nebraska team on the road. Her recruiting the past few years has failed to land top 50 talent like she did in the past. We are not getting them maybe because top kids think she might not be around in a year or two. The era of us being a final 16 or 8 team is over.

Why would we fire CVS is because our women's program which was once a top program is now barely mediocre. Ob viously with that said many on the board would kill for that record for the men but it is an entirley different situation. If we played U Conn tomorrow we would lose by 40 points easily. there was a time when were able to beat U Conn and now we have just been slipping further and further into mediocrity. There comes a time when a coach has to retire and her time has come!!

reading up on things, I am not so sure that CVS last two years are guaranteed. As for Jordan yes he can be bought out, my issue is that Rice is preordained as replacement. That's bollocks and any news is certainly not going to be broken at Monmouth in early January
