There’s really no ethics in recruiting anymore. This, in large part, is what Emmert and the NCAA has allowed to become a culture of corruption by not doing anything to those that blatantly cheat.
False. Been a culture. My cousin was a high major power 5 conference recruit.. And its been like this. Just more noticeable with media available to us.

Curbelo is not leaving Illinois. Quit making things up. Congratulations on getting OA.
Not "making things up". I read this in posts on an Illinois message board where many were concerned that he might follow the assistants to UK.

I did not say it is a done deal or anything. I merely posted it here to see if anyone knew anything definite about it. This is just a discussion board, and I agree that I know absolutely nothing. LOL.

There was a time when Cal explicitly stated, there’s a waiting list, a line of top players, wanting to be at UK. I just don’t get that feeling anymore. It’s like we are on our hands and knees begging mid-range talent to come here.

I truly believe our recent struggles to be feared on anyone’s schedule is hurting us severely over the past few seasons. And add last season’s depressing results, it only makes recruiting more difficult. And it shows.

I’m not whining, pouting, or crying. I’m stating facts. The allure of the tradition is fading. Yet, winning cures all, but I just don’t see that happening again this upcoming season. And I can see it in these posts, most fans share my gut-feeling.
Anyone ( looking at you) that doesn’t believe WWW switching his interest to the NBA has had a HUGE impact on Cals recruiting ,is just being naive.

I watched almost every Illinois game this season. He was not awful...in fact I think he has elite elements to his game (passing, playmaking). He made a ton of careless mistakes, but the talent he has is glaring.
Sounds like a poor man’s Boston

He is absolutely nothing like Boston. Boston wishes he would’ve been as effective as Curbelo as a freshman. He was one of the best players on a #1 seed while coming off the bench. He does some things that almost no one in college basketball can do. Of course he has his flaws such as shooting and decision making. He reminds me of an erratic Rondo, which given he was a freshman leaves a lot of room for polishing his game.

This is the same comparative that came to my mind when I watched him in the B10 tourney. Very Rondo-ish. Not a shooter, but he does SO many other things in terms of playmaking/passing and getting steals and disrupting on the defensive end that it easily makes up for the shooting deficiencies.

And, who knows, with another year’s experience he may fix the shooting thing as well.

Where's the updated roster with this guy in it and the photoshop with this guy in a UK uniform? Rafters is slipping.
