Question for someone smarter than me...... when LSU's big guy dunked on Moreno and was charged with a flagrant one why was the basket not negated? The foul clearly was committed prior to the actual dunk.

My guess would be that since they did not call a common foul originally, they could not waive off the basket. Dumb rule, if true.

Thought the same. It was a live-ball flagrant which occurred BEFORE the dunk. Dunk should we waived off. Glad we didn't lose by 1.

A brilliant display of the incompetence of the SEC refs.......The missed travel at the end of the first half...every game......

The call on the floor was no foul they can't go back and remove the pts for a F1 called on a review. They would have needed to have called offensive foul on the play.

Bottom line, they have to change these flagrant one calls when they are accidental. It’s so easy to make a mistake and hit someone on a follow through.

I personally don’t think either one should have been flagrant.

just idiotic

The refs were horrible. Lucky we won. The non-calls on LSU's multiple travels (yes, we had one and the announcer made a point to ramble on about it for 5 minutes), the showboating that they did after plays but our guy gets a T.

There were a few times also the refs really didn't want to call it - the offensive foul on their guy running us over in the lane, and the 3-second call (he was in there at least 6-7 seconds, with the ball).

Anyone see who the main ref was at the table? I know his name and he is a notorious bad ref when he calls UK games, but I can't recall exactly. He was at the scorer's table / review screens and appeared to be in charge of that area of the game. I didn't know the floor refs also doubled as sideline/scorer's table refs. Maybe I'll find a screen grab of it unless someone else got it.

They also called a pushoff on Oweh (which was the correct call), but missed at least two on LSU that resulted in two made baskets. Call it both ways is all I ask. And if one team isn't allowed to pose and celebrate after a made basket, then neither team should be allowed, it's that simple (I know we have some traditionalist sportsmen on this board that miss the olden days of no showmanship, but darn it I like when guys show emotion, lord knows this team could use more of it, just allow it for both teams). Nwoko also stepped out of bounds with the ball on a possession they scored two more points on.

I don't know how these guys keep their jobs year after year with this league and even get slurped by insane announcers. You can't tell me players making big NIL dollars are betting on the game, but referees making peanuts aren't. The sports media watching the same stuff we're watching will pretend to be shocked when it all comes out in the next 10-20 years.

SEC officials are the worst in basketball. Any level

And the SEC couldn’t care less.
