Texas' has had a couple of 65 yarders. and the best part of the kicks are that the return team really cant ever return. heck, the kicking team is the one who usually downs the ball!
there just isnt much downside to these guys. punts are very rarely ever blocked in college, so running to the right before punting doesnt seem to matter much in that respect.
id assume the 1 potential downside is a punter botching it off his shin or something, but i havent seen any of the punters who kick this way do that ever. and we have a traditional kicker that manages to shank em at a fairly high rate already, so its not like that punting form is failsafe or anything.
extremely long punts, rarely ever able to be returned, more easily pinned deep near the goal line...whats not to like?</p>
