Long dual layoff is now over, split the road trip and I'll be more than satisfied.

OSU:

125 Aguilar W, RU 3-0
133 Alvarez vs OSU stud Decatur... I think Sammy guts it out. RU 6-0
141 Aragona vs Pletcher. Anything less than a major loss is a W. I'll say Aragona holds it to a decision. RU 6-3
149 Angelo vs Sasso...Loss, Tied 6-6
157 MVB Win, RU 9-6
165 Donner Loss, Tied 9-9
174 Grello Win, RU 12-9
184 Janzer Wins, RU 15-9

Hope you are correct BigMatt, but I dont think the Ohio State match is going to be very close. Thinking about a 14-18 point win for the bad guys.

BTW, you don't happen to know what is up with Colucci? He didnt travel with the team. Did he get hurt before the Scuffle?

Aguilar md 4-0
Alvarez dec 7-0
Aragona loss by dec 7-3
Angelo loss by dec 7-6
MVB dec 10-6

RU wins, and there’s even wiggle room for one of the bouts to swing towards OSUs favor which helps especially if Collucci doesn’t wrestle.

Unfortunately I think Sasso ends up destroying Angelo and even if things break our way, any bonus points surrendered there really hurts the chance of an upset. Im hopeful that Pagano can hold Moore to 3 points as well but that’s a really tough ask. Also, MVB, Grello, and Janzer all have complete 50-50 matches and if so there’s a 12.5% chance of us winning all 3. Don’t expect us to win the dual but it would be nice to have a chance late.

I think i am a pessimist this match.
I think 133 is a toss-up (based on results in High school) and i hope Nic can overcome his second day swoon at the Scuffle.
Too many unknowns to predict: Can Janzer/Aragona make weight the correct way?
I think Moore tunes up whoever we put at 197

I would agree with ScarletGrapFan.....could get ugly

Realistically, I will be happy if we win 3 bouts at OSU. It's 50/50 if we get shut out or win 4 bouts. We have not faced this level of competition.

I agree there is a shot at possibly three wins. I would say those three are 50/50 matches.

And all for different reasons. Alvarez has another real test. Pletcher will likely win but this is a good barometer for JoJo. Aguilar should win his match if he wrestles well.

I wouldn’t be shocked if we win 1/10 bouts. I wouldn’t be shocked if we win 5 or 6 bouts either. I think we match up really well with Ohio St. In most matchups it’s our best vs their best and in the case of Pletcher and Moore, we have two guys of our own that don’t surrender a lot of points.

I don't see Grello winning against Romero ranked #9 who just beat Valencia#8

I don’t think he does either but it’s certainly plausible. Grello is ranked 19 on Flo and has been as high as 10 and his two losses are only by a point each. They have very similar results in common opponents and Wrestlestat has it as a 1 point match.

I don't have a great feeling about the OSU match, especially without Colucci in a weight that would be a toss-up potentially in our favor. Now with Esposito, we probably concede 285 and then we really need guys like Pagano, Angelo, Aragona, and whoever wrestlers at 165 to stay off their backs and not give up bonus points to have any shot to win.

With that being said, I do think we can escape East Lansing with a win vs. MSU. Being 1-1 this weekend should be the expectation.

Going to give an honest assessment here...
-Aguilar had a hot start but expectation came back down after scuffle .. he took couple unranked losses and Heinselman, although unranked, is a proven qualifier... this is almost a tossup it’s going come down final min.. anything else would surprise me.

-Alvarez gets a slight edge. Match of the duel. Decatur is fast but might have gas tank problems.

-My prediction is Jojo keeps it to a decision.. pletcher been a buzzsaw. Jojo is good from neutral but can he get off bottom..

Pretty much agree with the rest... we might win 1/10 or best case we can win 5/6..this will be a good duel can’t wait till 7pm!

I'd honestly be very surprised if Grello pulls it out against Romero. Pleasantly surprised for sure. Tonight is going to be a tough match. Personally, I just want to see tough, hard nosed wrestling from our guys.

We win 3 bouts against OSU I'll be pleasantly surprised, we win 4 I'll be ecstatic. Just don't want to see belly to the mat rather hard work and trying something. If it doesn't work against superior talent so be it. MSU that one's going to be real real close with a good possibility of an 0-2 road swing.
