RU vs Monmouth game thread

6-2 Monmouth. Both teams look a bit confused. Zippy with 2 quick fouls, not good. Diamond Johnson in already, she will have to get in better shape(not trying to be nasty).
Crap, Diamond turns her ankle and has to come out. Limped off. For those that watched the men the other night it was deja vu except it was Geo.
Thank goodness it looks like Diamond was able to shake off the ankle sprain. Whew!
32-10 RU. Diamond back in and looks really good, a little like Pointer.
I was surprised (happily) to see that, especially after what happened to Geo the other night.
Wow! She just nailed another 3. Buckle up RU fans. She looks every bit the star we've been hearing about.
42-14 end of half. I know it's only Monmouth, but boy do we look great. Diamond was able to come back in as well.
42-14 Rutgers at the half. This team looks well oiled. Doesn’t look like a first game. Swishes all over the place. 55 defense is crushing Monmouth. Bunch of steals. The freshmen are shining
Liz Martino will be one of our best shooters. She has the cleanest shot and is money from 3, missed a few early but finally knocked one down.
Diamond Johnson looks like a 5 star shooter. Swishes all over the place.
Singleton stepping up at Center, was worried about lack of big girl inside but she’s making some great moves and showing toughness that maybe didn’t see as much last year. Rebounding and some nice post moves.
Mack has been a monster as always. Love her attitude. She needs to not shoot so many 3s, her game is inside, slashing and taking the easy shot or dishing outside to open sharp shooters.
Arella quiet half but Cviv played her almost the whole time and she looks a bit tired, she had to be PG for a while with Zippy in foul trouble and Diamond hurt. She had some nice steals and fast break points. Conditioning, she’ll get into a groove but luckily didn’t need her to be all Star all half because we have lots of shooters and great defenders.

At some point during the season, a foul is going to be called on Chyna Cornwell’s eyelashes!
All in good fun. I know the fake eyelashes are popular with the kids.
I felt bad for the team coming out for the second half to an empty arena. I know this is stating the obvious, but this damned pandemic can't end soon enough. The "RACmosphere" will really be missed this season.

I Zoned out and thought the game was over because it was 68-22 and then the 4th quarter started68-22 end of 3rd.
Score corrected to 83 38 after game over, so we start the season with a palindrome!

First impressions, knowing it's a Monmouth team starting a bunch of freshmen:
Overall team looks good, though you can tell it's everyone's first game. Team still a bit too stagnant in the half court offense and settled for too many 3s, though they may have been trying out a bunch of new sets. Would like to see more action in the post; Singleton has some post moves on her and I've very, very intrigued by Walker. Defense was excellent per usual and team looks focused.
Arella was Arella. Looking every bit the B10 preseason POY.
T.Mack settled for too many 3s, but she was EVERYWHERE on defense and is coming for that DPOY award.
Mael's 3-pt shot also off, but she is a glue player and think she can do big things for us.
Singleton looked solid; I'd like for us to get her more looks.
Zippy didn't really get going until the 4th qtr because of early foul trouble, but she does look a lot more confident out there; I think between her and Diamond we should have a very, very solid PG spot.
Diamond: Potentially our most polished offensive freshmen since Cappie (or maybe Scaife). She has TAsha's build and circus shot capabilities.
Walker: She has the potential to be very, very good. Really nice touch on a mid range shot.
Martino: Love how unafraid she was to shoot; and agree her shot looks really good. Excited to watch her grow.
Guihon: Came in and was very solid, no letup, nothing flashy, just got the job done.
Cornwall/Marshall: Not enough time on court for huge impressions, but expect to see more of them moving forward.
Assuming Maddox was injured? This team at the guard/wing spot is going to be DEEP.
