not happy with the loss, but season is still young and expect by the end of it > the NCAA will be obtained.

If Drake becomes a NCAA tournie team a win over them could have been the difference between
us being in or being out, assuming we are good enough to get to the bubble.

The "We have no point guard" is a fact at this point in the season, not an excuse. We will have two experienced point guards when KK and CC are back. Let's see how we fare then. We would have had 3 if Kate Hill hadn't transferred. I did not see the game, so I can't comment on what exactly went wrong in the second half, but Jenkins not scoring is puzzling to me. She has played well in every other game. Victoria, on the other hand, keeps getting into foul trouble. That really hurts us. Does anyone know why a technical foul was called on the team?
Technical foul was on CVS for shouting at one of the refs. Not a good look when the score was close with just a few minutes left in the game.

True, but if Drake becomes a tourney team , loss might not be as bad in the eyes of the Tourney committee where RU WBB is concerned.
It's too early in the season for me to look at doom and gloom scenarios because of an early season loss.

Looking at the WBB Top 25 polls before game , neither Drake or RU was in it but Drake had 12 votes while I didn't see any for Rutgers.
That doesn't excuse the loss, especially the 2nd half disaster that caused the loss. But ( in my opinion) proves Drake isn't the cupcake some might have thought it was

A pre season look at the Drake Bulldogs
>On the women’s side, UNI is projected to finish second behind Drake.

The Bulldogs hold a streak of 42 consecutive victories over league opponents, and have won back-to-back conference regular-season and tournament championships. Coach Jennie Baranczyk’s team returns its top nine scorers from last year’s 26-8 season, including preseason all-conference picks Becca Hittner, the league’s reigning Player of the Year, and redshirt junior forward Sara Rhine.<

fact of the matter was its not about whether Drake is a NCAA team...its 44-29 lead at half and then destroyed 40-15 in the 2nd half...this is a trend with CVS teams over the past few years

A little bit of education for the bashers: Massey had Drake ranked 31 spots above Rutgers going into the game yesterday. The loss was not an upset. The loss was a huge disappointment because of the very poor second half. Coach can´t shoot the ball for the players.
