Defense is just as important. You do not need to shoot lights out if you can limit scoring on defense and draw fouls.
After a slow start, which so far has been our MO, we really picked it up. So far we appear to be a second half team (against better teams that's going to be a problem), and I would like to see us come out and go on a major run to put ECU away.

On the radio the announcers say the officials are blowing or missing several calls against ECU. It's probably the difference of about five to six points ECU has right now
Lots of missed calls, but a couple in our favor, too. Refs not great so far today - they need some halftime adjustments. lol
Williams needed that jumpshot, even if it was a shot one.....been struggling with the shots lately.
Tuesday night we will start to learn whether or not the patterns we have seen against these weak OOC teams transfers to more quality opposition. Hopefully the defense will be up to the task and the shooting improves with the increased adrenaline. We will see.
When you are not playing well and still up by 11 it means we are better and the opponent sucks..Last year or the year before we would be fighting for our lives. DEFENSE

Back from the RAC. Crowd was great just no students. We play great D and awesome effort, hustle etc.

Rutgers must have missed at least 8 layups in the game which accounts for the poor shooting percentage.There will be games like this against B1G opponents where Rutgers has to grind out wins because of poor shooting.
We led 57-33 with 7:30 to play and got outscored 14-4 the rest of the game. We got too concerned with taking 30 seconds off the clock and wound up taking a few horrible shots with 1 or 2 seconds on the clock. Corey did too much one on one today. He was 2-15 and often didn't pass the ball. We need to play team ball all the time. We also didn't get 2 points when Freeman was ahead of the field and he was called for a double dribble. At least we got the W. On to Florida State.
