A spread offense is not the same as a spread-option offense. Ash likely won't be running the spread-option.

The spread actually masks sub par offensive line play. Why do you think MAC teams run it? Because they can't recruit big time olinemen. This is why the spread can be effective against bigger stronger teams.
Why do you say that? Did he say that? If he takes OSU's effective plays, he is likely to use quite a few option plays.
RIP traditional Pro Style offense for RU. Truthfully I don't care how many QBs let alone players we put into the NFL. I just want a college team that wins. If that means a bunch of players with no pro prospects beating a team of future 1st round NFL draftees I'm good with that. The idea that somehow we could recruit better players by claiming we were making them "NFL Ready" is waaay over rated. Kids want to win. They all already think they are NFL material anyway.
With increase in number of NFL teams running some kinda power spread with sprinkled option plays, we will put enough. Plus I expect us to become a power D program just like the Schiano era.
