This quad system is so stupid it's incredible. I was just watching the MD/Michigan game on Fox. They project us an 11 seed and Indiana a 5 seed. So we play the exact same competition as they do for 22 games, finish two games ahead of them, and they're projected to be six seeds ahead of us. How you finish vs. another team in your own conference over 22 games should have way more weight in the rankings than anything else. More credit for beating Vermont on the road than Minnesota at home. More credit for beating maybe Duquesne than a 28-3 squad that beat Duke. Any system that has three Big East games in the top 15 is also ridiculous. Not one of them could win the Big 10. Creighton - give me a break. I didn't love it, but just using the RPI is better than this dumb system. With every passing day we need to have a stat to evaluate something else - this efficiency, that efficiency, launch angle, exit speed, 12% ground balls to first base - enough. Before the computer ruled everyone's lives, the eye test of people who knew what they were looking at was enough, and likely a better indicator than this dumb system.

I think you should re-check this.

ESPN/Lunardi has Indiana as an 11 - last 4 in.

Bracketmatrix.com has both Indiana and RU as 10 seeds. Brackmatrix has all the projections - I don't see Indiana higher than a 7 anywhere.

I think this is the current conventional wisdom: RU is in no matter what happens in the Tournament. Indiana may have to win at least one game.

Bracketville, which is considered the best bracketologist, (next to BAC) has us as a #9 and Indiana as a #9.

Oh, an Palm-boy suddenly said we are the "last 4 in" based on the win yesterday against Purdue. Hmmm, I thought we needed 3 road wins Jerry?

I'm pretty sure they must have been talking about the women's bracket, where Indiana is projected as a 5 seed and we're projected as a 9/10 seed.

DeCourcy didn't have Indiana as a 5 seed in the men's bracket on Friday.

Fox's bracket on 3/3 had:

"The Badgers are one of 10 teams currently projected to make the field from the Big Ten, joining Maryland (2 seed), Michigan State (4), Penn State (5), Ohio State (5), Iowa (5), Michigan (6), Illinois (8), Indiana (10) and Rutgers (11)."

https://www.foxsports.com/wisconsin...ected-seed-keeps-climbing-brad-davison-030320

There's no way they jumped from 10 to 5 in Fox's bracket from 3/3 to 3/6.

Almost positive that whatever they had on screen with Indiana as a (5) was the women's bracket.

I think you misread that. Maybe it was Illinois or Iowa. I don't know. But no one has Indiana as a five

Bracket guys like Palm and in general teams outside the Metro area know nada about this seasons Rutgers. What they do know unfortunately is our history for too many years. Plus most actually don’t know we are in perhaps the BEST conference in college sports. Don’t you suspect those in the NCAA committee are sometimes biased for whatever reasons. The key is beating Michigan on Thursday ( if that is our opponent ). Leave no doubt ... this is the Biggest game in many moons for Rutgers BB... I believe this 12 place preseason pick knows what needs to be done .

MSU game today. Commentators had Indiana a five seed and us an 11, at least that's what I thought I heard.

The OP is fake news and continues to troll the board with false information[/QUOTEl
Why do you keep calling me a troll. I've already told you I've been a football season ticket holder for years and been at nearly every BB game this year, and I'm an RU graduate. Are you just stupid?

Disagree if you want, but why do you keep calling me a troll. I'm a 13 year football season ticket holder, I've been to nearly every BB game this year, and I'm a proud 1975 RU graduate. Are you just stupid?

Excuse me if I've differed with Bac's this or Bac's that, LOL. And as I have already posted - if I was a troll I wouldn't put my name out there, and the fact that you even use the words "fake news" tells me all I need to know.

Nobody on the planet has had IU as a 5-seed. Think maybe you ate some funny brownies, lol...

RU completely owns Indiana in basketball. They stink. If they never made that dumb movie they are no more a program than Illinois. Good once a moon ago but the future for these two programs could not be different. The sleeping giant is awakening for real this time

There is no home court advantage so a 5 and a 12 are really no different. Much better to be an 11-13 seed than a 7-10 seed. Once they get past the first 2 seeds in a bracket it’s pretty wide open as to who can win a first round game up until 14-16. The 7-10 winners have to play 1-2 in the second round. An 11-13 plays 3-6 which is a better path to the sweet 16.

I also think you get a lot of matching up so BIg teams don’t play each other the first 2 rounds. Same with other conferences. Obviously we want the status of a 5-6 over a 11 seed but I’m just saying I have my sights set on the sweet 16 so I’m okay with an 11 seed.
