If I told you that the 13th ranked team was going to shoot 54% from the floor, 60%!! from three and 73% from the line you would logically expect that RU got blown out, but we won.

The real box score revelation is that we outscored IL by 14pts from the line where we enjoyed a 36 to 15 attempts advantage. How many B1G games have we had more attempts than our opponents? How about almost 2.5x attempts???? Illinois certainly was a step slow and deserved the whistles, but other games in RU's history we have seen much less advantage in the calls even when deserved. Could this finally be a little respect from the zebras?

Certainly seems that we are starting to finally get a friendly whistle.

Worth noting that them intentionally fouling in the last two minutes definitely skewed the free throw totals a bit more in our favor. I think 12 of those attempts came off of intentional fouls.

Even more impressive (and exceedingly rare) is the fact that we MADE 10 more FTs than they attempted.

I totally agree. And yes, win and they will respect.

I think it was about a 12 FT difference before the intentional fouling at the end but its nice to be on the other side of getting calls for once
