Damn ... Thought I'd check in ... Getting crushed. Ouch! On the bright side, at least they have 3 wins.

I know it's not the difference but so many touch fouls.

it the refs are calling so many, its up to the coaches to instruct the players to adapt to the way the game is getting called. The focus on everything on defense is causing this and its killing the offense as those scoring numbers are dismal today

Damn right I'll support the team and the coach. Sorry if you don't like that. That's what fans do.

what is scary is Minnesota is also just 3-8 in league play, RU played equally as poor against a bad Illinois team on the road.

thats great but I am entitled to my opinion too. I do not go to the games anymore because they are not enjoyable and worth my time and money. Judging by the steep attendance decline I am not alone, do you not think this is a problem...so many fans have tuned out for good on what has happened to a once proud program

how can you adapt when what you do is called a foul and the other team does the exact same thing and there's no foul. It's consistency. Referee crews dictate the game and you just admit that by what you're saying. But without consistency by the officials how is it fair in any way for the teams

Your negativity is upsetting. Don't watch Rutgers play anymore if it's really that bad. I agree that there needs to be changes made with cvs but don't attack the players. This years team are a group of talented young ladies. Who just need the right coach at this point. This group is a mix of transfers juco freshman and kids who didn't get much playing time last year being asked to play under the infamous cvs. Give them a break and stop bashing the team.

Interesting stats.
2 point FGs RU had 30 points, MINNESOTA 32.

3 point fgs- RU 9 points Minnesota 21.

Free throws- RU 7 points on 9 shots. Minnesota 27 points on 34 shots.

If that isn't the biggest ******** I've ever seen then RU men will win the B1G tourney.

25 free throw attempts more than us. That's fracking ********

yes losing by 35 shooting 29% but its all the refs fault, you think after the first quarter they would figure out to stop fouling

Saying the team isnt talented enough to play cvs defense & saying they foul because they play bad basketball.. shall I say throwing shade? Either way the program will always support cvs no matter how horrible she does. Despite her inept coaching style The players are the reasons why I spend hundreds of dollars on tickets every year. Don't down play their abilities because of cvs. I with out a doubt in my mind believe ru would have been top 4 top 5 in the big ten with a different coach. I wonder what your argument would Be then.

What concerns me is that the Rutgers football and the two basketball teams are having such great difficulty competing in the Big Ten.Unless recruiting shows marked improvement for these teams the won/loss records for these teams will show little or no improvement.

I just read they are now 13-12. How do you lose to a team like that by 34 points? My gosh.
I am not anti CVS nor is bac. We are pro Rutgers. How can anyone truly believe that there I a conspiracy with the refs to unfairly call fouls against RU. What would be the motive?

Never was a conspiracy. It is in the style of play, and as someone noted above, being unable to adjust.

Where it goes a bit beyond is that referees often have preconceptions, and if anyone thinks those referees don't know that RU has played physical defense at the borderline of fouling for 20 years, you just don't get it. How that perception affects calling fouls is also tied up with how the referee interprets the rules.

When we moved out to AZ and started going to games, we couldn't believe the constant "fouls" that are not called, until we realized that they are not "fouls" in the PAC, it is the style of almost all the ref's out here. Scrums and rough play under the basket are a-ok, but don't appear to touch a shooter's arm in the paint (you can knock her over, just don't touch her arm) or commit a touch foul anywhere. I don't think Rutgers has ever adjusted well - in game - to how it is being called.
