Hope the Dogs can finish on a high note. If the RS team that beat East Rutherford 42-0 shows up, it could be another long night for the Dogs. I do have faith that we can win though.

I'm sure it does and to the families and the kids too! I get little pleasure in seeing Burns this low and irrelevant. It was just a couple of years ago the crest only beat Burns 24 to 17 and it was always a good competitive game in the Burns crowd has some great fans then hopefully they will get things straightened out up there and be back in the hunt soon

When Donald Trump is elected President a wall will built from Lawndale to Casar. Boiling Springs limos will be seized. It will be called Fort Falston.

I'll tell you what, when Burns comes back from the dead and I believe they will, you two are the only ones allowed to post on this site...I'm gonna do my best to chase the other bandwagon fans off.

You all will get going again LD. You should run some of those lousy fans in the stands off. That dude with that head coach wanted shirt should be the first to go.

Yea we will for sure . Thanks guys . Burns fans are unusual group . We have a few really good ones .And a ton of really bad bandwagon ones as yall said. I know there is a huge game down the street and many so called burns fans will be at that one but these kids tried their best and deserve to be supported in for what will be the last football ever for most . Speaking of bandwagon did I really just read Shelby only averages 1200 fans per home game ? Surely SL that is a misprint . We probably do that many and we have really struggled .

well alot of them arent allowed out of their houses unless its for work release... :)

Good luck to our Seniors on their last game, some of those seniors have busted their butts and invested their time and effort in the program and deserve a good send off. Looking forward to the off season and getting better!

No bandwagon fan here. I just haven't been able to make any games this year due to work and my family. So I've had no input because I haven't seem all year. We will get out of the hole. Just may take another 2 years or so.

Two years would be perfect. Crest and Burns and Kings Mountain has to stand together against Gaston counties crappy teams in our new conference, if that's the way it goes. I'll tell you what though boys. If Ashbrook finds a new coach before then...it'll be tough. I think coach Beam could really get that place rolling again. Hate him or not he was good. I'm even starting to miss him lmao

Proud of the effort our team gave. KJ wanted this one bad. I'm proud of the way we didn't give up when we were down 21-0. And so brings to a close what I think was the most disappointing season since I started keeping up in the late 80s. I think it was even worse than 08. Better luck next year Bulldogs!

Yeah, I agree, I was disappointed when I heard the final score. Come on Bulldogs, we need you believe it or not. if we get stuck in that Gaston conference, we need someone to challenge Crest...KM is our next best shot.

Hate it for these kids they fought with everything they had all season... Injuries low numbers etc really hurt the team overall but that staff and you burns fans should be proud of the absolute fight the kids gave this year ..: win wise wasn't a great year but im willing to bet on character building and perseverance it was an absolute victory

thanks for the ecouragement. In Lawndale we are not wanting to hang hats on the "we won cause we played hard" etc... Our program and area is better than that. Low numbers and injuries did plague us for sure, but we will have to step up more, work even harder in the weight room and get kids excited to play, stay, and win again

Now that is the most realistic post I have seen about Burns in a while on here. I agree. We cannot hang our hats on moral victories. I feel for those kids too and I thank them for hanging in there this season. But, we have major work to do and we are going to have to get with it sooner than later. We have had a solid program at Burns in the recent years, a program that was winning 10+ games and making playoff runs, a program that dominated the conference until Crest came back in. I want that back. Now a lot of what you said Rev. means the kids are certainly going to have to do their parts, but a huge part falls on the coaching staff too. Coaches have to make sure kids are in the weight room and that the program is effective. Coaches have to be like salesmen. They have to be able to motivate kids to buy into their vision and play for them. Will that happen? Well, I have to be honest. I still have my doubts when it comes to the coaching staff. But, I would love to be proven wrong. I am no bandwagon fan. I was there in my seat last night, hoping we could pull it out. But, I am concerned about our program. I am and always will be a bulldog. Hoping we can right the ship and have a great year next year!

The truth has been spoken. If after two years the numbers have dived then the salesman in the coach and staff is not evident. A monkey can draw up x and o. Coaches first priority is to sell the program.

the talent was there for a 8-2, 7-3 type season. We hAd our full team for the first 5 quarters of the season and were up 42 -0. Then injury after injury and it never let up. I can't really put my finger on why so many injured to key players - hill, Allen , Leslie, James, Barbee etc .....now I'm hearing good middle school players are saying I'm going to this school or that one ....

The numbers did not dive they were low when the new staff got here. They have been working to get them up . its just real difficult with all that has happened the last 2 years . The truth is Burns fans are spoiled they think we should win like crest and shelby every year when in reality we just dont have the tallent and depth year in and year out to do that . I agree with Lawndog this years team was a 7-3 or 8-2 team without the injuries but we will never know now . If our program is to ever get back to where we want it to be, our Players , fans and community will have to buy in to whoever our coach is and support him , every friday night there are fans that think they know more about football in the stands than the coach that goes to practice and see the capabilities of his players everyday. Burns lost 2 games by only 1 point. when does some of the blame fall on the players I was at every game . I saw missed blocks and tackles fumbles, int s drop td passes that would have won those 2 1 point losses . But what i saw most is a fan base that really did not support there team . Most Burns fans that s on preps are true fans and will support the Bulldogs til the end. Once a Bulldog always a Bulldog !

I agree wholeheartedly. The stands has felt so dead late in the season. There is little to no encouragement coming from the crowd even when the players are trying to fire them up. It's almost like the crowd has written the game off as a loss before the game has even started.

When the parents buy into the program, whatever that sport is then the players buy in. Nobody has more influence than the parents. Parent support starts at no later than 11 years old. After that age the numbers will not happen. A middle school sport staff is more important than any jv team. Most kids drop off from sports after 14. The truth is no coach motivates kids. They set the environment for self motivation. The environment starts with mutual respect and a desire to accomplish a common goal. Burns will be back. Get the numbers up and the team competitiveness will drive the Friday night competitiveness.

Yep I agree . Our seniors deserved better no matter what the record. Many burns students, so called fans and even a player on the current roster went to the other game. And worst of all a teacher, currently at burns, bragging on Facebook about going to the crest/ Shelby game . Look pal, support the kids you see in the halls everyday or find another damn job. Reminds me of when I was at uncc and all you see are duke and Carolina shirts . Pathetic !!!!!!!

You are the definition of a bandwagon fan. Never miss the winning season games and can't make it during down years. Just saying.

WHAT???? A kid on the CURRENT Roster went to the Shelby game???? Your kidding...

I didn't know a Burns PLAYER went. I understand if you have a cousin or significant other at one of the schools and you're not on the Burns team. But I have a huge problem with a player going.

Yeah, that is pretty lousy. But, that just shows that the kid doesn't care and has apparently made his decision not to play for Burns anymore. So, he won't care what the coaches say. He was probably there tying to decide which school he wants to transfer too. The sad thing is, based on history he would be allowed to do it and would be welcomed with open arms at which ever school he decided to go to.

I don't mean to laugh, I really don't especially over something this sad, but that's funny.
Sometimes we have to laugh to keep from crying..... He is actually a nice kid but talent wise out of 30 players he is number 30 on the depth chart ( and that would include the female kicker).

I just hope he didn't wear his Burns game jersey over ....lol...

Oh Ok. Well, in that case he probably would not be allowed to transfer. Only our starters can do that. LOL!
