As I said in the other thread if we could "unschedule" about half of the AAC it might improve Uconn's RPI.......the other site I listed has the AAC 10th....ouch ! ..... But at least as a FB conference it might be an upgrade over the old Big East.

Blades,

I think the reason that site had the AAC 10th is that it was not updated through today. But either way the RPI is a concern.

There are now 351 division 1 basketball schools, and obviously some are going to suck. I think that the AAC will have to start pressuring the poor performing teams- Tulane and USF in particular- that they have to upgrade their programs or find a new conference for themselves. There are other schools who can be invited to take their place. It's that simple. Tulane isn't good in football either so they really need to get their act together, get a better facility and arena. This is a school that is in New Orleans and it should be a flagship school in the conference, not a perennial doormat.

It's gotta be some tough love- Aresco has to get on the phone and tell these guys, "the monkey ball sucking has to stop!"

Yeah.... Tulane was a weird selection by Aresco to begin with ???..... They added a brand new FB Stadium (but only built it to the FBS 30,000 cap. minimum ) , great academics (being classified as an AAU School )and a ton of money in their endowment of over a billion ($1,183,924,000), like Cincy, SMU and Tulsa.

But no hoop fans whatsoever ( averaging 1514 so far this year/ 2609 last) and they play in a glorified 4,100 person high school gym so how will they ever improve their recruiting ???

I don't get how a school with that endowment, location in one of the great cities of our nation and great academics has to suck. Obviously they don't want to be good and need motivation. Someone needs to motivate them. I am kind of surprised the alumni haven't lobbied for the upgrade.
