Hopefully the new ownership will invest more in the team and we can be more competitive more often.

Glad to see Glass pinching pennies every year so he could turn a $96M investment into a $1B profit. Hopefully they get someone who doesn’t run the team like Walmart.

Glass has a World Series Championship. If I could turn a team into a World Series champ, and make 941% on my initial investment. I'll continue to run it like Walmart.

Just glad he's selling the Royals to a "Kansas City guy". I'd hate to see them ever get moved.

you’d think theres some deep pockets in kc, but did i hear right that attendance is down like 800k across the league...?
probably, a decent chance they move, but then i think, to where?

I think Kansas City will get a lot of pressure to build a new ballpark in or near downtown, which would have been more feasible a few years ago before downtown real estate heated up.

They just updated Kauffman and it's right across the parking lot from arrowhead. I don't see them building a new stadium anytime soon nor should they

Well they're not going to host another All-Star Game with that attitude!

I didn’t say they should - I said there will be a lot of pressure to build. If people think MLB owners are greedy, just wait until they deal with prospective owners.

There's more to it than this. The stadium is leased, and although the lease doesn't expire until like 2031 the leveraging and negotiations will start heating up before we know it. I think the Royals ownership will do what all other ownership groups have done; hold the KC taxpayers hostage for a new downtown stadium.
