Ross has already had a labrum surgery so that's the concern for some I believe. If he was 149 wrestling other 149s it wouldn't be as much of a concern. But being 240 and having a guy 270 sprawling on you while your extended could be an issue

He was tall as well. Now I know people maybe are expecting more from Ross because of his athleticism but hard to scoff at 4 time all American. He stayed healthy against much bigger opponents so I’m not concerned about Ross’ health sustainability. He is super Athletic. If he needs to bulk he can do it in the off season. If he is ready throw him out there as a freshman

My first job coaching wrestling I was asked to hang out in the corner with the heavyweights. This dad walks in one day and asks if he can show the boys a thing or two, he had his own shoes so I figured he must know more than me. After practice I was talking to the other coaches and I was like that guy is pretty good, they all laughed at me and told me that Kirk was a 4x AA. Getting to know him better throughout the season he said he got to campus and couldn’t beat Randy Couture so he just bumped up a weight and became the starter and never let go.

That is a fact. High school State Champ in Illinois at like 185 (Not sure if that exact weight) and recruited as 84,97 lber. Joe Seay had him bulk up and he was practicing with Tom Erickson and Jim Shields. He could not beat Randy at first when he got to OSU. Kirk is an incredibly nice guy and so was Randy Couture.

Wrong Mammen in IL. Kirk's kids both graduated from Edmond Memorial. Neither wrestled much - 1 due to injury and the other was better at football and went to Air Force Academy.

Who will be the heaviest top HWT with eligibility next season? I haven’t had a chance to check rankings and eligibility, but to my knowledge there’s not a Schulz-sized guy that’ll be around in 2027?
