“Frost and his assistants haven’t been on the road recruiting for 620 days. Frost said this 2022 recruiting class is going to focus on getting immediate impact guys instead of signing freshmen. “When you’re as close as we’ve been, one or two more pieces, one or two more guys will get you over the hump,” Frost said. “So we’re probably going to look to the transfer portal a little more, look to junior college a little more and focus on those things to make sure we replace a couple guys we might be losing and try to add a couple more pieces I think we need.”

I agree with this strategy right now, but being successful at it remains to be seen.

I'd be fine with that if I had any confidence in Frost to pull it off, which I don't.

The portal is the new big thing for quick fixes. Immediate eligibility. There no doubt is going to be coaching turnover all over college football this year and there will be some quality players looking for a new home. I've said for weeks that Frost was going to save at least several spots for transfers. I would bet money they'll be after a QB and at least one O lineman.

Translation = high school kids don't want to play for us and I already spammed out 350 offers to 2022 high school recruits.

zero high school lineman recruits is incompetence.

For QB, I'd target Emory Jones from Florida or Spencer Rattler. I'd also put out feelers for the backup Arkansas QB Hornsby as I think he has the potential to be better than their starter. All of these guys are way better options than AM.
