Funny thing about that, which Butler hot here most of the board wanted him recruited over saying we could not win with him as a starter. True storyBut that’s going to a short list, with plenty of competition. And with the concern of JMI limitations, I’m not at all confident.
No doubt he has not helped his case at times. He's not a pg though and wasn't recruited to play pg. You also can't yank him everytime he makes a mistake. You have to let younger guys play through some of their mistakes.Right, but Aberdeen isn't a pg either and look at his growth.
Even though JJ isn't a pg, he has the dkills to he a good one if he wanted to.
Also, he plays ball like it's a 1 on 1 game, he doesn't like passing the ball, he wants to just score, even though he's trying to force it. I don't care if he's a pg, sg, or sf, his game isn't good for any of those positions.
He will be really good once he understands how to play team basketball. In fact, he would he deadly with his range and penetrating skills if he used them correctly.
Hope he comes back next year.
Yep I remember a lot of comments that he was not sec material and similar to chatter about Chandler last year.Funny thing about that, which Butler hot here most of the board wanted him recruited over saying we could not win with him as a starter. True story
Spot on!!Right, but Aberdeen isn't a pg either and look at his growth.

100%. He will get stronger and maybe even grow more. Definitely one to keep IMO.Not at all ,a kid tgat tall that young is uncoordinated and usually gets more comfortable the stronger he gets.I think with the redshirt yr it will help him bigtime. He can shoot to 40+% from 3pt range so he can help open the floor up.
He’s been injured all year and played about 25 total minutes and helped us beat St. John’s, and that nonsense you spewed above is what got from his time on the floor? Wow. You just showed your lack of knowledge about the game and I am glad you don’t recruit our players. Some of you people. Wow.Would be insane to roll with Lowe again at PG. Injuries, ball dominant, poor shooter, poor defense and would make it harder to get an elite guy at the position.
You have not seen enough of him to come to those conclusions. He has been hurt the entire year. You are way off base here.I would say you’re probably on an island. I’m sort of the opposite and I think most are. He’s wildly inconsistent, makes really bad decisions when I’ve seen him, and has never been a consistent scorer. More of a ball hog. But hey, he has been hurt. Not going to pretend that’s not happening. But I think he falls below what a UK guard should be.
If he’s back I hope it’s a backup role. If for nothing more than he’s injury prone and we can’t keep relying on guys like that.
There is nothing to base that on. But we do need 3 pg next year.,I'm just not convinced he's all that good. He isn't a good shooter, or defender and I really don't think we can trust him to stay uninjured an entire season.
At worst, Pope needs to make him earn that starting spot. Bring in another pg that is capable of starting.
You are wrong and I talk to fans every day who actually know a lot about basketball and they agree with me. Get Lowe 100% healthy from day one and you will see the type of player that you want. There is no way to judge Lowe as a bad player based on his play this year. You want Lowe to be the starting PG for UK next year? Or am I missing your point.im honestly shocked, just got done talking with quite a few fans that hope he’s gone or back as a backup. I said and still say he’s too good to be a backup and would never accept that role. But if our PG is Lowe next season, I think that’ll do it for Mark.
Would love to be wrong, but I doubt it.
If Lowe is our starting point guard, we aren’t winning anything. He’s a shot clunker look at his raw numbers. I think Lowe can be a good piece if he plays from the bench, I’d even give him some good minutes but we need another Kentucky level guard. He’s also coming off a really bad injury, Mark simple cannot afford to continue to roll out here with injury prone players. It’s not a smart idea. You are wrong and I talk to fans every day who actually know a lot about basketball and they agree with me. Problem is, if you allow a guy to just play through mistakes and leave a better player on the bench, you lose games. No doubt he has not helped his case at times. He's not a pg though and wasn't recruited to play pg. You also can't yank him everytime he makes a mistake. You have to let younger guys play through some of their mistakes.
Pope has a short leash with a few guys compared to some of the other guys. Aberdeen is a senior as well so he's more mature and experienced. I hope Johnson comes back too.
